Asian TS in Hotel

Hey,

I will be travelling to Bangkok soon. As a member of Asian TS, will I be able to access this site from my room as I have internet cable access from my room.

Hi LuckyA, this advice was posted in another thread. It will help you access ATS while in Thailand.

One thing you should get arranged before you travel is to ask the ATS tech support guys to set you up with access to their proxy server. This will allow you to access the site even though the countries block them. I am working in a Middle Eastern country now and the proxy is a lifesaver for me - thanks to Stogie and Bam!

Other things you might think about are a retractable telephone cord (just in case the phone jack is far away for the regular cord). Also be sure to check if the hotel you are staying at is using digital or analogue phone switching. Digital phone switching can fry the modem of your laptop due to excess current running through it. Some of the higher end hotels use digital switching for their PBX system.

In Thailand it is easy to get internet phone cards of various values. This will give you a user name and password to dial in and access the internet from your hotel room. If you are lucky some hotels offer free wifi - check the travel section and hotel descriptions.

Hey Stogie & Bam,

How do i get access to the proxy server. I will be in Bangkok from 29 July - 2 Aug then Pattaya from 2 - 6 Aug then back to Bangkok from 7 Aug - 10 Aug.
