    >>>I also believe that sucking cock is in the same category as guys that get bottomed. They are both equally submissive acts and for me qualifies a man as at least bisexual.>>>

Not at all. Who holds the real power when sucking cock? The suckee, cause they can stop anytime, stopping you from cumming very simply. Where is your power then Mr Limp dick!

To say "pulls the strings" implies dominance and a superior role in activity.

Whilst a submissive is not powerless, to say that he or she "pulls the strings" is misleading.

Submissives and their dominant partners play equal roles in consensual sexual activity. Assuming a role in a sexual relationship doesn't suggest giving up or assuming a shift in the balance of power.

Of course this applies to couples who love and respect each other...

Social submissives are another story and they are rarely happy with their role in life.

That's interesting, but I have yet to see one credible book or reliable source that defines gender as a definition of biological sex. That is not it's common usage in any modern literature.

        OXFORD
USAGE The words gender and sex both have the sense €˜the state of being male or female€™, but they are typically used in slightly different ways: sex tends to refer to biological differences, while gender tends to refer to cultural or social ones.

        MERRIAM-WEBSTER
2 a : SEX b : the behavioral, cultural, or psychological traits typically associated with one sex

Anyhow, this wasn't the point of the post.

          OXFORD
1 Grammar a class (usually masculine, feminine, common, or neuter) into which nouns and pronouns are placed in some languages.
2 the state of being male or female (with reference to social or cultural differences).
3 the members of one or other sex.
There are clearly two (and sometimes three!) meanings to this word and whilst this isn't the jist of the thread it's important that the facts are clear especially when general English terms may be misunderstood or misinterpreted and especially when facts rather than opinions are being described.

"Traditionally, gender has been used primarily to refer to the grammatical categories of €œmasculine,€ €œfeminine,€ and €œneuter,€ but in recent years the word has become well established in its use to refer to sex-based categories, as in phrases such as gender gap and the politics of gender.

This usage is supported by the practice of many anthropologists, who reserve sex for reference to biological categories, while using gender to refer to social or cultural categories. According to this rule, one would say The effectiveness of the medication appears to depend on the sex (not gender) of the patient, but In peasant societies, gender (not sex) roles are likely to be more clearly defined.

This distinction is useful in principle, but it is by no means widely observed, and considerable variation in usage occurs at all levels."

Sorry if this seems pedantic, but the title of the thread is "Definition of Gender!" and it's probably as well to get it right rather than confuse people with personal interpretations of facts.

Bottom line is if it feels good do it and don't put any regard in what other's opinions are....... Generally their opinions are driven by their own petty bigotries and the inability to face the fact that if other straight people knew they were banging boys with tits in the ass they would consder them as much a fag or queer as anyone who sucks ladyboy cocks or takes it up the ass.....

Exactly my point..........personally what I do in my private life is my business..........and to hell with everybody who doesn't like it............

And for someone to insinuate that someone who prefers the whole shebang!!!! is any more so called "Gay" then someone who just likes to bang boys with boobs is really showing not only their naivete but pure bigotry as well.......

Label me...........if I had of based my life on other people's labels then I wouldn't have gotten nearly as far and achieved as much as I have.

Labels are a part of everyday life guys...cold, hot, blue, brown, delicious, disgusting, etc...

Let's not act so surprised that as human beings we do our best (although it may not always come out that way) to describe things based on our social and cultural framework. Personally, I could give a rat's ass about the terms top, bottom, submissive, etc... but I don't have beef that the world in general has tried to assign meanings to these actions.
I'm a rough-ridin', hootin' and hollerin', ladyboy lovin' cowboy! Bang bang yer dead!!!

                      Hello Gents,

I think you may have missed Ziggy's point.

I believe the point of his post was not about labelling  -  but about stereotyping in social relationships based upon people's actions.

OK I didn't entirely agree with him either but he was trying to promote a discussion about it.

Then again I could well have missed the point also

Well, I guess it won't work, but I was trying to say is....

                        a. Everyone on this forum says they aren't judgemental (stereotyping)..."no labels! everyone is equal!
                        do what you want!"

                        b. Whenever there is a post about what is gay or not, everyone is judgemental (and stereotypes)..."you are
gay if you do this type of sex!"

And we immediately saw that in the posts! As soon as you call someone gay for doing X, but not gay for doing Y, you have created a stereotype and tagged him as 'inferior' because you, very, very likely, have said 'you are gay because you do that, but, I am superior, because I don't do that'.

I'm pointing out that many, many people on this forum are themselves bigots and don't know it.

The whole idea of the post was to say ... look at yourself. Do you know what you really think?

I proved my point in the first 5 replies.
