(By Lin Lulu) Huang Ningqian seems to be born beautiful judging from her graceful figure, high heels and tasseled shawl and every single movement reveals her feminine charm.
Nobody would ever imagine that such an attractive lady used to be a handsome man four years ago. On Mar. 15th, Huang began her open mate-seeking via the match-making channel of the website www.zj.com in Hangzhou, becoming the first transsexual looking for a Mr. Right online in China.
When Huang met the reporter, she came straight to the point and said, "I want a family, as any other women do."
According to Huang, many a young man from Shanghai and Ningbo wanted to start a romance with her but in vain due to failure of communications between them.
From a survey of netizens' opinions about online mate-seeking of transsexuals conducted by the website www.zj.com, the reporter found that Huang's behavior is incomprehensible to most traditional netizens. 52.8% of 892 voters indicated that they do not understand Huang's behavior, which violates general moral rules, while 8.4% of them chose the answer "hard to figure out and feel strange." Only 38.8% of those surveyed consider such a behavior normal and understandable. Some online forums of Hangzhou were flooded with abusive comments on this issue such as "sick behavior" and "nonsense." Many netizens even thought that Huang attempted to arouse sensationalism with online mate-seeking.
At the press conference of a beauty pageant held in Hangzhou on Mar. 9th, Huang Ningqian unveiled her status as a transsexual and questioned the organizing committee on the spot whether a transsexual can participate in a beauty pageant. The media present in the press conference were all interested in such a daring way to disclose one's special status.
