I am starting to experience a block by a local government agency here in LOS, when I log on to asian LB sites? Has anybody else had this problem? Can it be solved? I'm running Windows 2000, not Windows eXPerimental.

we have been talking about this for over a year i think.

1) look back through the posts for a recent item about proxy servers a short while back. the proxy server solution may work for you.

2) Log on somewhere else. Not all lines are blocked just some.
you can go into an internet cafe and one computer will allow ATS and the PC next to it will not .

I have no idea why this is so. One of life mysteries. even some Hotels in London block porno sites so its not just
Thailand ,.....

internet regulation is a creeping virus and believe me the European Union are at this very moment trying to draft laws so that they can decide what is suitable for their unloyal subjects.

They put in some new filtering this week, I think it involved packet inspection since it started blocking me even when I was using a proxy server. Are you getting redirected to cyberinspector.org ?

I had to resort to setting up a VPN using a Linux box, it worked, but very tricky and not something you should try at home.

If you have access to a VPN try using that.
If you have a access to a linux machine outside Thailand, you can use a program called PUTTY to set up a 'tunnel' and use that.

If this all sounds like gibberish, then I'm afraid I do not have an easy answer (for now). Maybe Bam, Stogie and myself can come up with a solution while drinking.

I am indeed from the UK White Night but i dont post on any Liverpool forum. Im a Londoner and West Ham Utd FC life long supporter.In two weeks time i will be leaving this cold weather behind and heading for sunnier climes once again.

What Snick is saying could be bad news and may effect the non blocked internet Cafes. Maybe there all blocked now. i hope not...... i hope someone finds out soon...

I'm not sure if it True, my ISP. Or at the border router, connecting Thailand to the Internet, which would affect everyone.
As I said earlier they did something new around wedsday which fucked me and some other people.

Ill be in the Far East at the end of feb but the BKK trip is tentative at the moment due to an unwanted travel companion who was forced on me .

However on the upside im definately in BKK at the end of march alone. Usually i make it to LOS at least 4-5 times a year as i do business in China and the flight is only a few hours.

I guess you will be back in December .

I'm writing this from BKK not on any proxy server just from my hotel, the last hotel I stayed in BKK would allow every site one minute and then block everything, an hour later everything was allowed again

You're a lucky man TC! I'd love to be able to go to LOS 5-6 times a year. What a dream.

Hopefully my next trip won't be December - although I'm pretty sure I'll come back the same time as this year. I think I'll be sent back to Tokyo in May so I'm trying to see if I can swing by BKK for a week or two of R&R around that time. We'll see! Maybe you'll even be around.
