Just so all you guys will know, and especially the new members who have just joined us [one who complained to me that he couldn't gain access and Stogie fixed that for him]; This Message board is brand new and less than 1 week old. Naturally, we have to work out the bugs, and Stogie is doing a great job getting this all set up despite the fact he is probably drunk on his beloved Heineken half the time.
For you guys who have just joined within the last week....... before, we had a very straight-forward [read; boring] message board which got the job done but wasn't that great. We have saved that and it is on the bottom of page 2 on this board for now, and we will always keep it because there are about 5000 posts up there and many of them are extremely valuable for you guys that are going oversea's. If we ever decide to revert to that old forum, it will always be there and we can jump right back into it. But for now, we are trying to make this site better and easier for all of you, and this site is just another feature that you will all like, including the Clubhouse which Stogie also created. Not bad for a guy who sits around all day looking up terms like 'luddite' in his english-to-american dictionary so he can impress forum members.
Guys that joined this site over 3 weeks ago......you were all happy with the old forum and we never got any complaints about it, but the fiasco with Site Gadgets and the fact that the forum was down for a week really made us get off our asses and look into a new forum deal. Site Gadgets was run outside this site; this new Forum is part of THIS site, and run off of our server; it will not break down or dissapear like the old one did.
Just letting you guys all know what's up with this thing......over time we will all get used to this and it will be embraced by one and all.
