I just spent the past week dealing with an old forum that we had......what a fucking nightmare!!  A bunch of haters and small-minded eunuchs who liked to be trouble-makers....yuuccchh. That is closed forever now and damn good riddance.

 I have also seen a few Yahoo groups and the BKK Tonight forum and a couple other strictly ladyboy-forums that are pretty good  but have nowhere near the amount of posters that this one gets. As my pal and ATS feeelance photographer  Lefty likes to point out to me often, this is by far the Number One place on the internet to talk about Ladyboys and travel in Thailand and we are very proud of that fact and we hope that you all enjoy it here. Thanks Stogie Bear, you did a great job and we all love it!


           Now, we may be getting lots of new people here soon and we ask them as well as all of our regular posters to *keep* this place the best one on the internet!  No fighting........... rude posts are not allowed, no spamming,  no flaming, no obnoxious, unwarranted  criticisms of our models or the website content; that is not what we are up here for and as usual all complaints and/or suggestions should be sent to my mailbox at [email protected]. We have never had a heavy hand on the delete/edit keys here but we do have 4 alert moderators now who will not hesitate to nip new problems in the bud.

   This is YOUR forum, and it's the best one on the internet for this topic by far ....please keep it hate-free and we can all enjoy it for years and years to come.  Thanks a lot to one and  all and enjoy!

I'm a newbie to the site and really like it already. I'll be back in LOS in Feb/Mar06 and looking forward to participate in the whole lb scene.

ON my first trip to BKK, I didn't do my homework and missed out ... this time will be different and coming across this site has been terrific. You guys really know your stuff and I've learned so much already.

Is there anyplace in particular to place the "Hey I'm new questions?" I don't want to start whole new threads if I don't have too.

hey, that's nice to hear and thanks for checking us out....if you keep reading here you really will learn a lot and your trips will be much better.  As for newbie questions, how about The Fish Box for Thailand in general questions? Hotels and the like are in Travel;  If it relates strictly to ladyboys, than here would be fine. Never be shy to ask away, that is what we are all here for.

Good question, Zeppo. Courtious members will be mindful of repeating stuff that long time posters have heard many times before. But don't worry too much about that. Browse the forums for a few minutes and if you can't find what you want to know then post your question in the appropriate forum!

By the way - the search feature on this forum is awful. I wouldn't waste your time on that thing!

Moving on...

In the last week or so I have been browsing other forums and catching up on what other people are doing. Here we are always changing and trying new things. If you feel that you can contribute or you have an idea to make this message board better then don't bew afraid to post them so we can maybe include them in the future.

The 'AsianTS.com Calendar' forum is new and has been suggested by a few members and I saw something similar on another forum and it worked very well. We'll try it for a while and see how popular it is!

The 'Ladyboy Live' is another idea I copied from another forum! The 'Picture Post' forum is less than a year old and has quickly turned into the most popularly viewed forum!

JaiDee and myself and other regular members are always on hand to help, guide and inform all our guests.

Even if you don't sign up to the main site you are still very welcome to join us here and share your thoughts with all of us.

Yes sir gentlemen, and ladies, we have a real gem here with this forum when it comes to a place to talk about anything to do with ladyboys and related travel to Thailand. Just to see when we stand, I looked around at a few other forums over the last month or so. Even looking at the one on the site that was the first for specifically ladyboys. And from what I could see, and this is no exaggeration, if you took the traffic of every other ladyboy dedicated forum combined, it would not be 5% of the traffic on this forum. I went to one forum on a very well known ladyboy site at many different times over several days and I kid you not, 95% of the time, I was the only one on the forum at that time.
When was the last time anyone signed in here and found only 1 or 2 others active at that time on the forum? Even at the slowest times, we seem to have between 10 and 20 users on the forum.
To all you guys who love ladyboys and consider them the thing that sets Thailand apart as the best travel location in the world, enjoy and appreciate what a great resource we have here in this forum. Stogie deserves a special thanks for all his work to get this whole thing going back in 2003, and keeping it running smooth for the entire time since.

I'll be joining the main site next week after I clear up a few things. To bad about the search function ... maybe a good thing as I'll be forced to review more of the posts and learn even more. I screwed up on my first visit to Bkk (only relied on LonelyPlanet - big mistake ) and don't want to screw up again.

I noticed that you guys can help in searching forl lb's and even provide contact numbers ... is it a good idea to contact lb's prior to my going there, or should I just wait until I'm actually there and go to NEP and look? There's a couple I'm interested in already (and I've only been on this forum for a couple of days).

If you want my opinion, and I am just a minor leaguer compared to the many more experienced travelers we have here, it can work ok both ways. I have been met at the airport three different times by three different ladyboys, and everything went great with each in the time we spent together. Only one of three had I met in person before the time she met me when I arrived at the airport. So it does not necessarily have to be one you already know in person who meets you for it to work.
I've also met some on just the spur of the moment and that also worked out very well too. Say for example already being there and just going on a walk about to some of the venues where ladyboys hang out. This can also be just as productive and fruitful as any other method of meeting ladyboys.
JD often tells me that the best plan is no plan when it comes to meeting the ladyboys. Just knowing where they are to be found, such as the NEP bars in Bkk, Walking Street and Soi 6 in Pattaya, and Bangla Road in Patong, Phuket; and going there and looking around. Although each city has many others locations that are worth looking too.
I know it is easy to see one particular model on the site and to get your heart set on meeting her. I see nothing wrong with this. Many of the well known ladyboys are happy to arrange to meet you beforehand. In my opinion, they hope this increases the chances for staying together for multiple consecutive days and I think many if not most ladyboys often prefer this, because it is easier for them and a change of pace from having to go thru different guys night after night. I think they like it when they can meet one nice guy who will treat them like a lady and like a girlfriend and be their regular companion for a week or two or three.
