Are we paying too much?

When i go to bkk,i have a fairly good idea of lb rates. i've paid 300 baht for a streetwalker who was great and didn't want to leave me,1,000-1,500 baht for most who have been great ,2,000 baht for a dud,and VERY rarely 3,000 for just one who is perfect in every way...for me at least.
last trip i was approached by many girls...not lb's...genetic girls...all very attractive,and the highest price quoted was 800 baht!! i didn't negotiate beacause i wasn't interested.
I am not complaining about the lb rates,most of which are good value compared to home....but i hope someone smarter than me can tell me why the average lb is about double the cost of the real thing?

I've been on the streets at 2 am and I can tell you that maybe one skank will pop out of the woodwork and offer her soul for 800 Baht but this isn't the way things are in the tourist areas of Bangkok.

To suggest that many girls approached and offered a price to a disinterested farang of no more than 800 Baht is more than surprising.

I'm not saying it didn't happen. Just that I'm surprised that it did.

I'd be interested to know how many girls came and offered their wares for 800 or less and at what time and at what location this occured.

As for the ladyboys... those left on the streets after 2 am should really be avoided at all costs for a multitude of reasons!

time was about 10pm.......several girls offered themselves for 800 baht,and a cab driver also showed photos of a few girls.....who looked good,but may have turned out to be dogs.....but again the price was 800 baht.....from these few approaches i gathered the going rate must be 800. have i turned down a bargain?? i was curious as to why the difference between lb's and the real thing.

The more I have thought about this the more I think that some kind of scam is going on here.

800 Baht sounds to good to be true and as we all know if it sounds to good to be true then it most likely is.

The Tuk Tuk drivers and cabbies who show pictures of girls are touts and scamming touts at that!

They'll drive you to an obscure filthy hotel, tag you up with a dog and before you know it the 'hotel' bill arrives, the drinks charges and the girls condom etc... suddenly 800 Baht looks more like 3,000 Baht and there is a heavy outside your room waiting to collect!

800 baht seems very likely and fair in Sukhumvit.
I normally offer the streetwalkers (ladyboys) 500 ST, and most will go for that.(Also notice that I am not young).
Remember the Thais only pay about 200.

NEVER take offers from the touts/taxidrivers etc. !!!

I have been offering anything from 600 ro 1000 by freelancer for ST of course. But depends upon the market condition and time too.
I had a freelancer LB asking me for 700 and after 6 weeks she asked 1500 at the same time of the evening. With GGs more or less I would feel safe but with some LBs I have seen around..hmm..better walk straight!!
