Anyway, I've never let on an interest in LBs to friends, etc., but I do talk about them. It's very, very awkward for me. I have many employees in Thailand, including foreigners. I go out with my LB friends every freaking day and weekend. I remain paranoid one will see me. As much as it sounds nice to be out about our passion and pasttime, I would think very long and carefully about revealing your tastes to anyone, especially where you work. Obviously, everyone's situation is different but once the word is out, you can never put the genie back in the bottle.

Short of moving far away and restarting your life from scratch that bit of info will forever follow you. Unfortunately, in many societies our preference at best will leave us misunderstood and at worst will make us reviled and unemployable.

In my world I would loose thousands of clients almost instantly and my life would be hell. Even in Thailand I believe that people who love ladyboys are looked down on.

BTW - The landscape of what is and isn't frowned upon in Thailand is changing almost daily. I think you'll find that ladyboys are embraced readily in all walks of life these days. It's no longer the dirty family secret!

I think girls on the game are frowned upon, though (with a little added mix of envy and resentment threown in!) It's rather 'hi-so' (snobby) to look down on people here and the bargirls and prostitutes seem to get it pretty bad.
