Freelancer prices on the rise?

Just back from a very busy biz trip to BKk, so not much fun action a part from a couple of evenings of karaoke and massage,kindly sponsored by clients. Great looking girls in those Ratchada places anyway
One evening, after a long dinner, I felt having a walk between a thunderstorm and another as last week has been so rainy and I passed by Soi 3.
I was stopped by a lb who's always there and chatted a short while. She asked 1000 + 270 for the motel like she was quoting a commoditing price for a short time.
Ok, thanks and bye..why paying 1000 for a freelancer!
Next I meet another freelancer with whom I was with only 45 days ago during a 2 days stop-over. She promtly asked me 1500 short time. Hey!! Only 45 days ago you came with me for 700 baht!!!

Next there was a cute GG who stopped me and said again ST 1500 baht and LT 3000 baht

A third thanks and bye bye and headed back to hotel as I was really too tired to stretch upon NEP.
WTF is going on? Was it me looking like Santa Claus that evening or something weird is going on...who knows..Russian mafia taking over BKK too after Pattaya?? Could that be?? I saw several Russian GG's prostitutes in the area.
Is anybody experiencing the same? Some of you have surely a more constant presence in BKK than me.

That was exactly at 11 PM so I agree with what you say. But the one which I picked up some 45 days ago it was also at/around 11PM an dcame for 700 and now asking double! Strange uhu?

For sure there are now more Middle Easterners with hard cash to spend in BKK, since they are not welcome in Europe and USA, and so are coming to have fun inThailand/Malaysia/Indonesia.

So, perhaps a combination of everything..I just hope the Ruskins are not coming over and jacking up prices hence spoiling the whole thing.

the difference between 700 and 1000 baht is 7 US dollars now, surely you could swing that?

1000 baht is pretty much the minimum for working girls in Bangkok whether on the streets or no matter the time. seems like a pretty good deal to me, that is only 25 dollars; girls like this would be ten times that amount in the west.

But yes, to up the price to double that in just 45 days is pure extortion.

I generally don't like freelancers either, lots of them are shifty and they work outside sometimes for a reason; the bars won't let them work in there because of theft and other problems, maybe drugs or run-ins with the customers. Of course this isn't always the case, but it does happen.

Advantage to those girls; they don't start work until 10 or 11 PM and are usually fresh when they report to work; if you take home a girl from Cascades or Obsessions at that time she may have been with 2 or 3 blokes before you and will mail in her performance.

Her name is Nat and not bad looking at all, clean and well dressed also. She could comfortably work in a club and have guys bringing her out all the time. Probably she just opts for freelance for some reasons.
But yes, indeed a strange reaction in just one month and a half, and that let me thought of something happening in the street trade. I have seen things like this allover the places. Gangs taking over..police creating more problems..whatever to be a reason for sudden price increases.

You certainly can get girls for <1000 Baht, freelancers, and I have. The lowest offer I had on Sukhumvit was 200 baht, but between 500-1000 Baht is not unusual. I don't really remember what time I got these offers, but I think Stogie may be right. The later it gets, the more desperation sets in, and the rent is due, and they owe their friend money, and, what do you know, 500 baht does it. But, there is a reason it's 500 baht as well; they ain't poster girls, but not hounds either.

There are quite a few girls on Sukhumvit, the even side between soi 8 and Soi 4, who will go for between Bt500 and Bt1000. I have walked home a few times and been stopped. I have asked how much and they reply Bt500. These are usually the older women - 30's upwards. Some are rough but some have been surprisingly cute - although who knows what scars and stretch marks are hidden. Similarly outside Robinsons I have been stopped and quoted Bt700 straight out. Never taken any of them up on it though. I only occasionally cheat on my gf now and that is only with LBs ( I know it still makes me a bad man!!)

It all depends on the time and how desperate the girl is. You can't blame them for asking a higher price. If someone is willing to pay it is good for her. If not she can negotiate. Never been quoted less than Bt1000 by a LB in Bangkok though.

Actually, I find the best place from about 11pm on is between Soi 3 and Soi 5, in front of the hotel just before the Italian restaurant. It is a 100% guarantee to see about 2-5 LBs there, very, very low prices, the occasional looker.

Yes for some reason you find the gg's on the even side of Sukimwit between Soi 4 and Soi 8 and the LB's on the odd side between Soi 3 and Soi 5.

Unfortunately the police pay more attention to the odd side of the street.

Personally I'm convinced that there is more crime on the other side - I am biased.

Come on, it's a 1000 baht! Bartering down from that just means you have to carry pockets full of wads of 100's. As long as she's good, clean and does what you want during that short time, drop her the 1000.
