how would you fellows feel about having death threats made at you?

how would you like it when people say "man, is this model ugly!" for 50 people to see?

how would you like having to keep track of people picking apart other people's heritage  or saying that all children of british descent should be murdered?

gimme  a  break... this forum was created to talk about ladyboys and it has become a fucking circus and I repeat once again;  NO OTHER FORUM ON THE INTERNET ALLOWS THE STUFF TO BE SAID THAT HAS BEEN BEING SAID ON THIS ONE.

why the hell should we be the only one?

less than 5% of people who join this website even bother to read here so your thinking that we will lose business is probably not on the mark, oilbaron; if people want to quit because we change the forum layout that is pretty sad.

I still don't think you understand; we will still have a forum but it will just look different

I still dont get it. If I say on this forum that I want to kill every Irishman who doesnt drink Guinness when topping a LB and it pisses you off.

OK, so the next forum allows discussion and debate, so I say the same thing.

Then everyone goes "oops" I thought we changed forums so people couldnt say that stuff. But there goes Janabiyah saying stuff, but he wasnt able to post the picture, well thank God for that.

Or maybe I still dont get it

There are lots of other Ladyboy forums on Yahoo right now... I like this one better because it's more personalized. Why not open your Yahoo forum but leave this one going for an extra month... why did you only give us 1 week notice of the shutdown of this forum?. I know you said it's 'just moving' but if everything on here is lost then it is a closing of this forum.

no re-register..... the old forum will be like a Yahoo group forum, where no registration is necessary nor any moderation. You make a post, people can read and respond to it and that is all.  Check the forum once or twice a day, scroll down to make sure you see all the posts, and then check it again the next day. Much easier and more user-friendly, believe me.

we have given this forum 2+ years to work and it just plain and simply is not.

sorry, you will like the new one better over time I am sure. I know I will.
          Hey JD,

I appreciate the effort you guys go to to keep this forum, and the earnestness in trying to make the thing easier to manage.

However, I think that the kinds of posts and posters you dislike aren't a result of the structure of the message boards, but just indicative of the flotsam that appears on any message board.  An unmoderated board, without registration, will almost certainly have even more flotsam appear, and could also fill up with spammers.  We've been pretty lucky here that there have been virtually no spammers.

Your users have been saying repeatedly that this is a great board - we love it.  It's the only one I read.  I don't know which Yahoo group you read, but I've checked out about 2 dozen of them, and they almost all turn to crap, or have such low traffic that it becomes boring to check them regularly.

Although you're right that simplifying things to talk about only LBs would be nice, I enjoy the travel advice given in some forums, advice on software in other threads, and the occasional political banter - mostly constrained to the pub.

One nice advantage of different fora is not simply that the discussions are segregated into relevant topics, but that as it offers many different outlets, it actually encourages more discussions in more topical dimensions - fostering the community that many of us know and love.  For instance, some recent discussions in the Picture Post forum have revolved around pics of popular areas in BKK.  These have nothing to do with LBs per se, but do help former visitors reminisce about the great times they've had in that area.  The travel information forum helped me find a post-op in Beijing, and later I will post info on the methods that did and didn't work (I found another LB, unsure of pre/post status); in addition I think some language guides will be helpful for visitors to Thailand, China, Japan, etc.; along with the hotel guides that are useful.  In short, I don't know of another site that provides this level of resources under one forum umbrella.

I don't know the new software or the way you've set it up, so I can't comment on that.  I just want to emphasize that the users of this board seem quite happy.

An example of a site with virtually no moderation and "streamlined" discussion is SF Redbook's TS/TV forum.  I used to read that regularly, but the lack of moderation and separation of discussion meant that trolls took over, and there was little incentive for long-time readers to stick around.

So, the upside of all of this is that you have a great board with a few cretins who stop by every so often and cause problems.  These kinds of people infect a lot of boards, get their jollies and move on.  In some cases, they are able to stick around for too long, especially in sites w/o moderation of some kind, and usually get their kicks from displacing more valued and enduring members of the community.  In addition, they can scare off otherwise timid newer members.

Well, JD, I wish all you at ATS all the best, and I'll stick with you all through to the new board.  But, there's also a very good reason why I've stuck with this board and have dropped dozens of others.

          Cheers,

          POL

Ps.  As this is my 888th post, and 888 is a very lucky number in China, I will refrain from posting for a few days, just to savor this.
Retired the top 12.  Need a new dirty dozen.

Update: The new list is coming together: Nong Poy, Anita, Nok, Gif, Liisa Winkler, Kay, Nina Poon.  Is it possible to find 5 more?  Until then, GGs:  Jessica Alba, Yuko Ogura, Zhang Ziyi, Maggie Q, and Gong Li.

simple....because the next forum will only be one page and more easily moderated.

I don't have time to check this every day and neither does Stogie....we travel quite a bit. so one of those useless posts may get through and we may not see it for 4 or 5 days here. with the new forum it will be just one page and I can check it daily from wherever I am in the world and if there is something disgusting I can delete it on sight. or is that still considered illegal to some of the first ammendment people here? I swear if I hear one more time about how people are allowed to just come on here and say whatever they want I will barf, that is not the case on any forum.

we tried other moderators and they were never around either; no one even knows what happened to Mike TS Lover but he hasn't posted or read up here in months and he was a moderator. Stogie and I just can't handle this thing now, it has become too large and hard to manage.

Got your point JD, but cant we keep up this format with just one section, to make it easier to check for you guys? So we still can post pics and do the silly smiley thing. The Yahoo-style format is really lousy.

                    Jai Dee:

As a recent member, I have to say that I prefer the current format. I know it must require a lot of work on your part, but from my point of view, it's worth it!

Another thing that's well worthwhile is the archive. Before I started to post comments, I went through all of the postings on all of the pages -- that stuff is a real treasure trove of good info (and great sights, too!), especially for us new guys!

If you MUST change the format, can you at least keep the archive? Or, if you CAN'T keep the archive, can you tell us how to save all that stuff to our hard drives in one pass, rather than post-by-post? That would be a big help!

Thanks, you guys, for this site; it's great!

That's nothing - - I used to work for the government.

Change it how you like, it's ur site dude.

All said though, I kind of was hoping your announcement would be that you were going to to the old structure. Preferred much to this. But again, it's your site.

p.s., I understand you're too busy to moderate, due to travelling all the time. But SB travelling?? I didn't think he got out of his apartment, except to buy beer

yes, that is the one that I had in mind and we will see; Snick has an idea that we may be trying out and I will give it a few weeks to see how it all pans out, so for now this one lives.  But I personally also liked the old format better and so did Paddy and Masahiko; time will tell if it comes back but for now Snick has done some 11th-hour appeals to save this one from the electric chair.  You guys that like this look can thank him for now.

obelikz, I can understand that you like the forum and come here every day to check it and we appreciate that;  we will always have a forum to talk about ladyboys on this website, it just always may not look exactly like this one.

As another recent member I must second the importance of the archives. I joined partly because I wanted easy access to the information there. I haven't had time to wander through it all and if it's going to be gone I'll have missed a lot. Please make a way we can access it at least for a while.

                              Hi Jaidee

Just my .02 USD for what it's worth

My personal opinion - this forum been a very informative place and great fun despite the occasional off-thread slanging that occurs

Like many others, I make this forum a daily stop right after I check personal mail - and only go to the actual membership site when I have the time or see a post which calls my attention to a new model or spread

That said, I can respect the time and trouble that a few misguided ones here have caused for you and Stogie - and with this in mind, I respect and understand your intentions looking ahead

A question, if I may - would it be possible to retain this forum as a read-only archive for those of us who simply do not have the time to immediately search / save the items of interest herein?

Speaking for myself, I would be very disappointed if the wealth of information contained here were to disappear forever in just under a weeks time

A final observation - please don't be disappointed with MikeTSLover's extended absence from participating / moderating this (for the most part) great place for like-minded folks to gather online

I briefly spoke with Mike during a short visit to BKK a little over a week ago - he is absolutely inundated with work requirements at this time, and barely has time to keep up with the most important of personal affairs, let alone spend much time here these days

While it will likely be some time yet before we may again enjoy his wit and humor in the new forum, I know that he will be back in fine form when is able - and would share my disappointment if several years of great stories, trip reports, pics, et al were to be gone forever

As always, thanks for your kind consideration and all that you do
