The AP recently reported in The Nation newspaper that 2 unidentified Japanese male sex tourists chopped off the penis of a katoey [transvestite] they mistook for a woman with whom they wanted to have sex. The victim, an 18-year old Cambodian bar worker who liked to dress and act like a female, was on his way to work when the 2 Japanese invited him to have sex for US$20, apparently believing him to be female.
Phnom Penh's numerous bars and brothels attract a large number of male tourists seeking sex, the paper reported. The dismembered victim is undergoing treatment after his male organ had been completely severed.
