      Bricktop - I do!

The f**king tax man asked me for all my expenses receipts for 2000 / 2001 at the beginning of this year and guess what? I was able to give him the whole lot! Amazing number of taxi trips!!!

        Hey Thaipan,

You must be in and out of 'taxis' so often that you're worn out

        RR.

Tax! - like all good Englishmen I consider it my duty to avoid paying it!!!!

What does everyone use for transportation to and from the airport to downtown Bangkok? I know there are lots of taxis €“ but does anyone ever use a car service?

          Thanks!

if i remember correctly the car services charge a minimum of 500 bhat plus tolls and the taxi ride costs around 200-250 bhat ... If you can, try to get one of the newer taxi's - they are quite a bit larger and the aircon always works better ... The bottom line - its just a few extra dollars but why pay double when you don't have to.

              Hello Mike,

As Oracle says the car services are about double the taxi fare, including tip! I normally pay about 240 Baht to a hotel near Sukumwit. That is allowing 60 Baht for the expressway toll and a generous tip.

Stayed at the Dynasty Inn for 5 nights weekend just past. Was in room 601, top floor at the front only room on that floor....huge room, shower not that powerful though. 1080 baht per night.
24 hour Internet cafe directly across street, pretty fast speed
I went to look at the Majestic rooms for next time. Boy, those rooms are really small

                  Taxis
Arrived at airport last Thursday 9h30pm. I normally take the airport bus for 100 baht, as long as it is leaving within the next few minutes. I had just missed one, so went to look for taxi....big line. Took a private car service for 500 baht INCLUDING tolls. Well worth it to avoid the queue and get to the chilled beer quicker
On the way back, Dynasty will organise a car for you for 690 baht....f*ck that. I picked up a meter taxi outside, even at 5h30am, 270 baht including tolls. When I stayed at Royal Asia Lodge last time, they organise a taxi for 300 baht all inclusive to airport
