Deana was the last one I found and if I hadn't stayed two more days at almost the last minute, I never would have been able to shoot her. She is from Heredia, a town next to SJ. We found her standing along the street one evening, what was supposed to be my last night there. When I stayed two more days, I called her the next day and arranged a shoot. Stopping at KFC on the way to the shoot was her choice, not mine.
I think her smile looks a little like the younger pics of Jenna Jameson's smile. She is one of my favorites, top 2-3 for looks IMO, of the ones I shot.
Deana helped me find my favorite travesti, who lives in a city next to Heredia, called Alajuela. My last night I was going to be there, I wanted to relocate Michelle M, and a local tico from the hotel who knows people in the scene in Alajuela agreed to help me for taxi fare home afterwards. So on the way there, we pass through Heredia. We see several travestis on the street corners. He spots Deana, and while it is fairly dark and I'm not sure yet, he wants us to stop so he can talk to her and ask if she knows Michelle. It is a pretty tight knit group in Heredia and Alajuela, and if one doesn't know another, she probably knows someone who does. So Deana agrees to help me located Michelle for a very small fee, and so we all drive to Alajuela and while driving down a fairly dark street in a residential area, we see someone walking alone along the side of the street, and it is Michelle, on her way home after going to get some chicken takeout for dinner. So after finding her again I decide to stay for two more days, giving me time to photograph Deana. Michelle, I was quite smitten with, I had first met her in La Avispa disco right after I got there, saw her again one more time and then could not make connections again, b/c of her being in another city and not having a cell phone or email. If not for wanting to spend more time with Michelle, I would have definiitely wanted to hook up with Deana. Deana is more well off than most travestis and lives in a gated community with a security guard, in Heredia. When we went to pick her up for the photo shoot, we had to stop for the guard to open the gate, after explaining who we were going in to visit.
