So the Thai Tourism Ministers suggested wrist bands for tourists may be in order after the murders on Koh Tao.
Possibly even radio tracking tags or chaperones or "minders". Also Party Curfews. (Why do they think people go to Thailand?)
It does not make sense that any of these things will stop crimes like this one. How will a wristband stop a murderer with a weapon? I am not sure what tourists want to wear wristbands. This is just asking to be gouged by those seeking tourist monies. All this sounds like extra money making opportunities for Thais. Now you would have to buy a wristband and possibly pay for a forced "tour guide"?
Isn't one of the great parts about Thailand is the freedom to move around as you like, and the low prices?
Another opportunity for fine collection for now wearing your wrist band? Crazy talk.
