rx, I wish to Thank You for your efforts to keep this site alive. This was the first site I ever visited and there are many people who taught me so much. I remember sitting home after my 4th surgery in 2 years and I spent time talking ( hope the name is correct ) with Naangfah. She talked to me in Chat plus talked to me in private. Strong Lady. I have many faults, old, a few pounds overweight, and sometimes have to many   . But I owe much so this site and I just wanted to say....

P.S. I know some people who have left for issues with previous issues, but to me LOYALITY is earned and you have done that.

Thanks but it's not just me, there's also BAM who is hosting the forum - without that this would have gone black long ago.

However, also please thank the active posters, Texasmac, Azza, ChaseLB, Bugeye, PigDogg, Torurot, Thaime, Bugeye, Bam and good to see Road Runner return after a long absence, and any anyone else I may have missed.

I honestly thought about making a purchase when Stogie put it up for sale. But since my computer skills are on the level of an abacus I thought better. Plus know I wonder if it was all BS?

By BS are you referring to the financials of this site ?

If so, i think you will find the forum did make some good money. (by Thai standards)

The problem with charging fees & making things private is that clientele will drop away over time and when there are a number of other viable free options readily found it only further complicates life.

I kinda wish BAM as the present owner (i assume) could open all the forums to the public again and get this place a rockin'.

As Rx once said there is so much information stored here it would be a shame to see it go the way of the dodo.

And if the forum were to be fully reopened to the public... I hope the club within a club mentality doesn't resurface.

No, Stogie emailed me one day and asked me if I was interested about buying the site. I knew nothing of it's financials or the nuts and bolts of how to run it. I thought maybe he was giving me some BS in general. Nothing to do with the site. Which I enjoy after all these years.

Although I was flamed several times for going to the Philippines (including my trip reports) instead of Thailand I did stay here as a wealth of information.

I do regret not meeting Stogie and Bam in person.

I did apply for a Photographer position when it became available but my lack of photgraphic experience did not help even though I thought I was quite capable.

I hope the site continues.

I have had several user names over my time on this site.

I am here to STAY.

Also extending my heartfelt thanks to RxPharm and Bam for keeping this place alive, with time and real money and all the posters that keep things alive.  

Where did everyone go?  Cliquey this place never was compared to other sites.  

The information on here has personally saved me thousands of Bhat  and vastly increased the quality of my hard earned holiday time and allowed me to meet a lot of interesting people I otherwise would not of met.

Which reminds me, special thanks to ChaseLB as a bar/club owner for keeping the PATTAYA OBSESSIONS (Pages 1 2 3 ..163 ) thread well alive with wonderful current pictures and commentary.  

TexasMac mentioned loyalty... This forum has DIRECTLY funnelled thousands of punters AND over the years MILLIONS of Bhat into various bars/clubs/hotels for what (LB's) is relatively a very small niche interest, harder to find and access compared to regular girl bars/clubs.  As far as I'm concerned Loyalty is earned, as is Patronage...  particularly "This is a bar, not a brothel" .... you know who you are!

I joined, and have signed up to a few others
but even though it's often quiet here, I always manage
to find something new here!

A lot of the others I rarely visit now
but always find my way back here

Actually the only parts of the forum that are not wide open now are the trip reports and photo gallery.

These areas are restricted to trusted members - for the time being.

As always there are some benefits and some drawbacks to leaving these sections wide open.

In my small heart I say leave everything open. But I have leaned since 2009 for some reason that even though many of us are a Minority of a Minority, for some reason some individuals want to all over us to make themselves feel important. Honestly when Stogie started charging I paid and it was no big deal. I pay for a dinner, a movie, a drink and many things I enjoy. So the fun and stories I heard here were worth it. Not hoping to sound melo-dramatic but I have learned a lot here not just about myself. but about people in general.
