    Jamie: Drag Queen at 16

Wednesday, July 20th, 2011 UK TV BBC 3 at 9:00pm

This moving and uplifting documentary follows teenager Jamie as he makes a bold statement about his transition into adulthood.

Growing up in an ex-mining village in County Durham, Jamie has already faced his fair share of difficulties after coming out as gay at 14. However, with supportive family and friends around him, Jamie has now decided that he is ready to share with his peers his dreams of becoming a drag queen.

The programme follows Jamie as he embarks on a journey to discover more about his future vocation. He meets an established drag artist and performs as his alter ego for the very first time to a large audience - but how will Jamie's peers react when he reveals his future plans?

As Jamie has some frank and intimate family moments, the film explores his hopes and fears about leaving his small village behind for the bright lights of the city.

If this is a British TV program then it's likely to be largely factually inaccurate and needlessly ''scandalous' with forced emotional sidelines with loads of unnecessary background filler.

But, hey... that's reality TV for ya!

I'm not holding my breath for anything other than a circus freak being paraded about.

have you seen Oprah lately. same same..most of this stuff is churned for a ready made audience like lonely housewives etc. The format is known even before you see the program .. ha ha

In fact you can guess the whole script and be 75% correct.

( but i still wanted to see it, anyway the BBC repeat everything a hundred times so it will be on again)

We should put our brains together and produce our own Documentary and syndicate it like these guys do. Or get Channlel4 to fund it ( or similar)

It wouldnt be that hard would it.  One supposes getting faces on Camera is hard part but even that shouldnt difficult with $ persuasion

                Its about time

Took a look last night! Most of the programme saw Jamie prancing around and mincing. Towards the end of the programme when fully made up she/he looked pretty good! Well i wouldn't say no!! In reality most guys here will probably watch most of the programme, just to see if jamie is passable at the end. Passable or not at the end, certainly fuckable! On a more serious note it was nice to see the support from his Mum and some friends.
