For all those who have seen The Hangover II, a question - given that this is a comedy, when do I laugh?

How is it possible to have an unlimited budget available to engage the services of the best comedy writers & the best they can come up with is a series of sight gags that are as amusing as a cup of cold vomit. The lead 'dudes' spend most of the movie screaming & carrying on like ADD kindergarten kids on speed.

I so much wanted to enjoy this film that I feel betrayed by all the hype that it is such a load of merde. We all know the story line, the guys all get wasted while having a drink the night before the wedding. They don't know where they are when they wake up, the groom is sporting a Mike Tyson facial tattoo, they have lost the bride's younger brother, a Thai drug dealer is dead in their room & no one knows what happened.

That's about as funny as it gets. It isn't a bad premise to start with, why couldn't they have done something with it? Instead we get the obligatory bad dudes who want something they don't know they have, the compulsory go-go bar scene where they start hyperventilating at the sight of Yasmin's cock, the de rigeur car chase, the cute smoking monkey that should have animal welfare groups up in arms, it just goes from one cliche to the next. Even the bride's father goes from disliking the groom to giving him a big bear hug & welcome all in the space of 24 hours. Wow, who saw that coming?

And Alan, the bearded guy who is euphemistically described as a lovable 'man-child' is nothing more than a nasty, hateful sociopath whose idea of fun is to destroy the dreams of others. This is despite being warned not to do it again. His total lack of judgement indicate a serious case of mental illness. Of course there would be no movie without him.

I really hope there is The Hangover III, where Stu the dentist gets to perform root canals on his "friends" without an anaesthetic. They can scream for half the movie before they all go to a ladyboy bar & get publicly fucked. Now that would be funny & I wouldn't feel quite so ripped off.
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.

I thought Hangover I was very funny.

I thought Hangover II was totally un-funny and Yasmin Lee's full, flacid, unshaven, frontal view almost managed to put me off LBs for life.

            Hangover 1 was funny .

Hangover 2 was just a rehash of the same story in a different location , the same tired old jokes .

Worth watching out of curiosity because its shot in Thailand .

I agree Jim. I was negative with my comments & not everyone agrees with me. Obviously. The movie is ground breaking in featuring a naked ladyboy & if all the web chatter keeps up, we can be sure of seeing more LBs on screen. In mainstream movies as opposed to porn that is.

I hope to see some other opinions posted here on The Hangover II. I have stated the worst case for the film, I know most won't be as fussed by it as I was & I am sure some will find it amusing. And there's always the moment when Yasmin turns & faces the camera. That is worth the price of admission.

And on that point... *ahem*..  would that not be the best paid nude scene by any LB in the history of movies? Certainly for dollars per second. We get all of two seconds of her, a shame she is such a fattie...

Like Pacman I too was keen to enjoy the movie but left feeling a little empty as far as the comedy goes. I also felt myself cringing at the overacting.

On a brighter note the scenes around Bangkok gave me an urge to get back there, not that the urge ever really goes away.

One thing I've noticed is that whenever the movie is discussed amongst friends or work colleagues the ladyboy scenes usually seem to be the focal point which is when I usually quietly smile to myself.

One middle aged woman I work with exclaimed "you know there's women with dicks in that movie".

I agree too that the ladyboy scene may well lead to more interest for many, I hope that's a good thing.

Reminds me of when the Crying Game came out , pretty ground breaking that one .

My mum watched it and said to me "There's a woman with a mans cock in it "

Me - "No mum its a guy "

Mum - "No definitely a woman but she had a cock , maybe she's one of those hermaphrodites "

Me - "must be " I was too embarrassed to continue

Jim's story reminds me of my dear old Nan who bless her found the modern world a bit much and tended to get muddled.

When we were both about 17, my cousin managed to pull a very glamorous girly who worked at our town's first unisex hairdressers - and I was chronically jealous until he and the girlfriend met Nan out shopping - on being introduced she said in a voice that echoed up the High Street

" Oh yes - you're the bisexual hairdresser I heard about!"

I didn't see the first one but daughter says it was much funnier than this one and we saw it together. I only saw it because of the Bangkok connection and the monkey.

In 2007 a television show on ABC called Dirty Sexy Money ran, and one of the recurring actors was Candis Cayne, a hot transgender woman. Here is a little bio and a picture of her. Unfortunately, she got the axe and then the show got the axe as well.

Cayne, known as Brendan McDaniel prior to her transition, and fraternal twin brother Dylan[6] were born in 1971 in Maui where their parents taught at a Waldorf school, and the family lived on campus.[7] McDaniel graduated from Maui's Baldwin High School in 1989[6] and then spent a year in Los Angeles, where she trained as a dancer.[2]

Career and transitionMcDaniel moved to New York in the early 1990s, making a name for herself as a choreographer and drag performer.[2] Unaware of "what a transsexual was" until she lived in New York, about three years after her arrival McDaniel realized that the term described how she felt about herself.[2] Already performing as "Candis Cayne" at New York gay bar Boy Bar and as a featured performer at Tour in New York's Chelsea, the entertainer also participated in Wigstock, the annual drag festival in the East Village. In 1995 Cayne appeared in the related documentary film Wigstock: The Movie, the comedy-drama film Stonewall, and the Universal Studios comedy film To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar, for which she also did choreography. Cayne began transitioning in 1996.[citation needed] In 1997 Cayne co-starred in the music video for RuPaul's "A Little Bit of Love" with female impersonator Jazzmun. Cayne also starred as the title character in the 1998 independent film Mob Queen, and won the 2001 Miss Continental pageant.[8][9] In 2007 Cayne was cast as Annaka Manners in the 2007 RuPaul film Starrbooty.

From 2007 to 2008 Cayne played Carmelita Rainer, a trans woman having an affair with married New York Attorney General Patrick Darling (played by William Baldwin), on the ABC prime time drama Dirty Sexy Money.[3][4][5] The role makes Cayne the first transgender actor to play a recurring transgender character in prime time.[3][4][5] She had a recurring role as the transgender character Alexis Stone in season six of Nip/Tuck.[10]

[edit] Activism and personal lifeCayne has stated, "I'm not trying to be a spokeswoman for the transgender community; I just want to be looked at as a living, breathing, happy human being."[4] She calls the LGBT community "the last great minority" and supports the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.[4]

As of March 2009, Cayne was engaged to a disc jockey named Marco and lives in Los Angeles.[4] However they broke up late March 2010.

Here is a quick publicity pic of her! Maybe we will see more hot transgender and Ladyboys in the future! Hope so!

I was at a dinner with some people on Sunday night and some of the university students at the table (children of the hosts) were talking about the movie and how crap it was compared to Hangover I.

However, they mentioned the full frontal LB, and on the way home my client's wife (in whose grounds I now live) asked if, on any of my trips to Thailand, I had ever come across "One of those trans-gendered persons".

I replied "Who? What? Me? No! Never! At least not that I know of".

After mid-night I had my monthly Skype call with my ex-wife and her husband and relayed the question and my response.

My ex-wife (who was Ex, before I had met my first LB, but over the years has met a number of my LB companions) could not believe I could give such a response with a straight face.

I usually stop the conversation dead when asked 'TT, have you accidentally gone with one of these .... trannies?'

                            Answer: 'Never ........ accidentally!'
