I'm sticking with it, and a couple of other forums for now. However, as Bumpa says, all the forums are deathly quiet. I've deliberately not posted on LB69 for a couple of days after an "overexposure" comment, and was expecting a welter of "where's jim?" comments, but no...nothing.

I'm currently on Facebook, although i think that's going to be a waste of time.

    Twatter? Forget it.

I'm struggling to think how best to promote my bar and the wonderful LB scene connected with it!

And with euro-tourists obviously having to be cautious with their money, an election coming up here too, i'm getting a bit concerned for all barowners, let alone the LB ones. It must be a nightmare in Pattaya right now.

But don't worry - we have the wherewithal to withstand a prolonged period of pain. I just hope the tourism industry, from our standpoint, can withstand the colossal economic upheaval currently enveloping the western hemisphere, and bounce back again.

    Good luck to you all.

There are a couple of forums here that personally I'd like to see livened up - the "find your long lost LB forum" in particular. There are a couple of former ATS "superstars" whom I've been curious about - some like the infamous Ming are still on the scene, others like Anne from Obsessions seemingly disappeared but have now resurfaced....was going to post a few "where are they now" messages to see if there was news about some of these girls.

Is there a need for a bit of a membership drive to try and get back some of the old timers who had something useful to contribute but who have disappeared? I can recall a couple of blokes who lived in Singapore and who were the go to guys about the LB scene there...they were basically running the best Singapore thread in the Trip Reports section and one of them (can't remember his name but he used a buzzing fly as his avatar) I think has gone, would be good to get him back.

Yes - I put a lot of time into the 'social networks' but it's a bust as far as I'm concerned.

I have a feeling the back lash over these Big Brother sites is going to be massive very soon.
I'm feeling rough and it's a combination of air and water...

Every week I get an email reminding me I have friend requests on Facebook. I did try to see who wanted me as a friend but I have to log in to do so.

I opened an account a few years back to see what the fuss was about. And that's as far as I ever went. I wasn't keen on sharing my details with the entire world, now it looks like others have come to the same conclusion.
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.

I think there's a lot in what Paccy says. I gave up with Twitter as I have no desire to follow domestic cleaning products anywhere in cyber space, as for Facebook - well I find it a fairly harmless diversion with the current privacy controls and you do get to make contact with some fairly tasty totty not to mention a few BMs along the way.

Personally I'd never put my innermost thoughts into an open forum like that nor would I write anything that might come back to bite me (tempting fate here).

Like many of my friends on this site I have a range of interests both in and out of the world of Ladyboys which do come together on Facebook. Interestingly none of my business and social Facebook friends have commented on my group of Phillipines and Thai correspondents, mainly I suspect because you get so many invitations that its difficult to keep up let alone be judgmental.

In these troubled times when many of us have less disposable income than previously I find it quite encouraging to know that the likes of Cocktails and dreams are hanging in there and will be around when the good times roll again.

(jimbo34 @ Jun. 19 2011,04:13) This is pretty much my view of Thailand, just now:
Jim - do you really think anything is better back home? No more owned hospitals? Yup they pay rent to landlords now (they were owned when we left).

Shopkeepers kept held in cells for taking 'young rascals' home to get a good hiding from their father and it becoming so politically correct that police seem to be going after the good guys rather than villains.

Welcome to the new "Britain - with Human rights....."

Its a new world in Politically correct Britain where the common sense guy gets clobbered and brow beaten.

                      Cheers

                         Yes it is...

It's a wacky UK world where the criminals get free lawyers and almost no punishments for the most heinous of crimes yet we lock up old people who can't afford to watch the television!

The UK is about the only place that's nice to look at (in parts) but a fucking horrible place to actually live your life.

I can't wait to plan my escape again and get out of this joyless shit hole.

I totally agree about the uk, but i am constamtly frustrated at these thai prats. Their arrogance and complacency is astonishing.

Without wishing to diminish the grief of anyone who has had a loved one killed by terrorists, I genuinely feel that the political correctness brigade present a greater threat to our society than Bin Laden ever did. For example:

Recently on Question Time (a UK discussion programme) Germaine Greer announced that when a daughter kisses her father goodnight this is a form of sexual grooming.

We the UK taxpayer have funded a convicted rapist to go to the European Court and win the right for prisoners to vote.

Locally to me a taxi driver was stabbed, he is now unable to work as his injuries render him unable to drive. The criminals who did this entered a plea of mitigation that they were not responsible due to drug addiction - this was upheld.

The UK government which is composed of a swindlers who defrauded their expenses system are now inflicting draconian measures on the ordinary person with fuel and VAT (sales tax) duties rising while they continue to piss it up in the taxpayer subsidised bars of Westminster.

In London a school which has a policy forbidding "gang culture" haircuts and insignia has been taken to court by some little snot (funded by the taxpayer) and criticised as being potentially racist.

It goes on and on - the world's gone fucking mad

No Twitter, No Facepalm and no intention of starting either. Haven't got the time or the inclination. Perhaps they have some slight business use as Jimbo 34 is finding out?

So please never stop posting Tr or photos or like jimbo has for years updates on your bars. I hope you all do not mind me chiming in on this..A/B
