Ok, it's that time of the year again! The Miss Tiffany Universe contest will be on May 6, 2011 at the Tiffany Theatre in Pattaya. It will also be broadcast on Thai TV 7.

For those in Bangkok, on April 18, at Central World, there will be an elimination round to reduce the field to the final 24 who will go on to Pattaya.

Ok, this may sound dumb, at least it does to me so now I know it sounds dumb, but how are the girls picked for the Miss Tiffany contest? Is it just a sign up process of all of the ladyboys that want to compete? Are there regional competitions like we have for Ms. America? I am just curious. And does anyone know if one of our beloved girls from the bar have entered the contest? I believe several of our girls are more than pretty enough to compete! Also what does it cost to enter and do the girls have to pay all of the fees themselves? Just curious.

Wow, someone interested in contests! That's great since most bms are bored to death about these!

The contest is open to any lbs 18-25 (but they will accept some a bit older than 25) to enter. The entry fee is 5000 Baht - non-refundable. However, the major cost has to be the outfits, shoes and accessories they need. An evening gown, cocktail dress and swimsuit (for Miss Unlimited Sexy Star). To have a good chance, probably around 100,000 Baht or more, also including hair stylist and a makeup artist.

There are no provincial competitions like Miss USA/America - however there are several smaller contests throughout the country. Some lbs do the contest circuit as it helps make them known, and perhaps have a better chance for the biggest contest, Miss Tiffany Universe.

There have been some bar girls enter in the past. In 2007 Oil was 2nd runner up, at the time she was working part time at Casanova Bar and studying at university.

In the early years of the contest bar girls have won the title, but since 2003, there has been more screening to try and keep them out of the final 3, although Oil did slip in 2007.

Some ladies often look for sponsors as the cost of a serious entry is quite high. Sometimes it is a plastic surgery clinic, a pub, a beverage company, etc.

It has been rumored the contest is often "fixed" with a pre-selected winner, which was the case in 2004, when Nong Poy won - however she is quite beautiful as well.

Just a reminder for those in Bangkok. On Monday, April 18 the field is reduced to the final 24 who will go on to Pattaya for the next phase. It will be held at Central World (former World Trade Centre) from 10:00 am to 4 pm. Note there will be a lot of interviewing to begin with. At 3 pm - 4pm the 24 going to the next round will be announced.

I have heard that Oil has been out of the p4p scene for almost 2 years now. Not sure if any over BM has her contact details. That is if you mean Oil who was 2nd runner up in Miss Tiffany Universe 2007 and Miss Cascade 2007, as per photo below.
