My buddy El Hefe hit the nail on the head. Well, I mostly shot my load in Post 9999 so not really what to say. And didn't want to waste 10K on a one liner.

So figured I write a bit on relationships.

One major shift in TLF over time has been the acceptance of relationships by the posters. In fact, many of the regulars here are in relationships with ladyboys.

About five years ago the prevailing attitude was something to akin to ladyboy prostitutes are skanks and the corrolary was relationships with ladyboys are doomed to failure.

But relationships seem to working for several FMs and their teeraks. This is not to say that having a relationship is better than mongering. But throughout the world lots of guys are in relationships. Perhaps this is because if a guy on the wrong side of 40 goes out to a bar or club in Falangland looking to hook up with a 22 year old for the night, he is by no means assured of success.

So here in Thailand you don't need to be in Thailand to get sex. Therefore most guys choose to monger.

Relationships can be challenging though. For me the most challenging part of my relationship is that although I know Thai words and phrases, i can't really converse in Thai. Bad on me. So my girlfriend and I converse in English but it's very difficult to have nuanced conversations.

For me, the cultural differences are not a big barrier. While obviously, I'm not as handsome as a 30 year old Thai guy, I don't think that's a major issue either.

And her being a ladyboy is not much of an issue either. The main difference in my eyes in the relationships we have with ladyboys than the relationships guys have with Thai genetic girls is that ladyboys can't bear children.

Think lots of guys get hung up with worrying that she loves our money instead of us. Well financial security is part of the package. That's just the way it is.

Life is full of surprises. I never expected to be living with a Thai ladyboy. But then I guess many guys reading this never expected to ever be in bed with a ladyboy.

Here in Pattaya, with both the Thai and farang social class that I interact with I don't feel any discrimination based on sexual preference. I'm sure it's different elsewhere in Thailand, and one might not be bringing a ladyboy half one's age to an office party, but those issues would still remain if it was a GG half one's age.

I actually forget my teerak is a ladyboy; it feels just like living with a lady doing all the everyday stuff that people do.

For most people this is the prevailing attitude unfortunately. The recognised LB stereotypes usually include drug references, high HIV risk, some sort of dodgy crime connection plus the type of sexual acts sort out by closet homosexuals.

What worse image can any member of polite society possibly have? Compare that to the reality of the sweet natured creatures you meet when you actually seek them out.

Such a stark contrast, the stupid fictional depiction of ladyboys versus the hardworking, loyal, loving, optimistic katoeys of Thailand. I hope one day the mainstream media feels the same.

So true. Certainly not me but once I took the step, I never regretted it. I still feel sex with ladyboys is the new frontier. Everyone wants something new, but what? A katoey is what. How can anything be more exotic than a beautiful ladyboy?

Every year, there is more curiousity about katoeys, more interest in meeting them, the number of guys out there who want to try this brand of forbidden fruit is growing exponentially.

PD, yours was one of the names that I remember from the first day I joined this forum back in '05. Your posts were always a pleasure to read and I finally I got the chance to meet you in person in La Bamba back in '08.

Just looking around and uncovered a post from November 2007, just about the time I had made up my mind to give notice at work but about a month or so before I actually did.

Brings back memories of my first trip to Thailand back in December 2002 and how after just a few days, I was thinking that I could actually move here.

The first day I walked into Mermaid's I discovered that the owner, an extremely nice young guy, who unfortunately died of a heart attack about a year or so ago, had the same scuba teacher back in the states that I did. So this guy who was once in the same boat as me, now had this thriving business in tropical paradise.

Enough about me, Toto/Lulu is a nice change of pace, a quick baht bus away from Sodom by the Sea. Worth a trip since you can check out Sally's as well on the same night.

Toto is a nice enough gay Thai guy. Lulu is a classy, sophisticated pot-op that travels to Denmark quite often having a long term boyfriend. Back in the day, she must have been an amazing stunner but she's no spring chicken anymore.

It's a hit or miss place. Given the small amount of ladyboys on staff the numbers and qulity can vary quite a bit from night to night and also month to month. If they hire two super sexy ladyboys in a particular month it's much different than a month when two left. The ladyboys there tend to be low key, not much drama, they blend in and one might not even be sure if a girl is a ladyboy or not.

It's a mellow place for a drink on somewhat charming soi. Not the type of place where the girls take their dick out.
