Neung, I have not had the pleasure of meeting you yet, but from all the comments I've seen and what you are written you are a very special lady.

You will get quite a few different answers to your question - what Stogie Bear wrote probably covers what many guys think.

For me, I do understand why some ladies work in the bar. There are few jobs that will pay well enough for a lady or ladyboy to support her family. Everyone dreams of doing something better for the family - and we have seen photos of your visit to home, as a great example.

In cases like this, I feel that is just like any job - except it pays very well. The problem with this kind of job is that when the money becomes the most important thing - to buy the next designer bag or clothes, or if the person falls into the trap of drugs.

If you have a plan to help your family and earn enough money to open your own business you probably will not fall into the problems that SB wrote about.

I have also met some lb bar workers - some are quite nice, and some not so nice. I also know a few who were able to make enough money to get out of bar work and are successful with a new career or business.

It has been written there are plenty of opportunities for ladies and lbs to find good jobs. This may be true, but these jobs usually pay enough for one person only - not enough to help a family. In Thailand the government does not have much social services, so the family must look after itself.

So Neung, though we have not met, I agree with the others you are a very special lady - make your plans and I hope you are successful and will get out of the bar business sooner instead of later!

Personally i disagree, being a prostitute is not a "normal" job, in fact it´s a very bad job, and wouldn´t want my gf to be one.
That doesn´t stop me from buying prostitutes in Thailand though.

I agree with what Rxpharm says in his post.  I have not had the pleasure of meeting you.  I really enjoy your posts and pictures and you seem to have a nice family.   Just make a plan for your life and stick to it and you will get out of this life what you seek.  Below I have an example of the goal sheet that I use and it does work.  I filled it our with examples to show you how it could be done.  I read my goals 2 times a day, once when I get up and once before I go to bed.  Life is funny, it gives you what you ask for.  Good luck to you and I hope you use this example to ask for what you want in life.


MY SHORT TIME LIFE GOALS: Less than 5 years

I want to own a beauty shop & beauty supply store in my home town of in 3 years
I want to earn 70,000 baht a month from my businesses so I can support my family                
I want to earn my bachelors degree in Accounting to help run my businesses
I want to find the right man to love.  

MY LONG RANGE LIFE GOALS: 5 to 20 years

I want to own 5 beauty shops, 2 beauty supply stores and 1 moblie phone store
I want my family to be happy and well cared for courtesy of my businesses
I want to own 2 homes for myself and 1 for my family


Below are the actions I will take to reach all of my goal

ACTION 1.  I will read these goals each morning when I get up and also before I go to sleep at night
ACTION 2:  I will enroll in Accounting classess starting (Fill in Date)
ACTION 3:  I will save 80% of the money I am now making.  I will not do foolish things like drugs or gambling
ACTION 4:  I will read as many books as I can on self improvement to help me stay positive
ACTION 5:  I will always treat people with respect and never become jaded - See number 4
