My daughter took Third place out of 27 10yr's Old Kids.
She had to fight ; Purple belts, Blue belts and Orange belts and still managed to show.
I was a proud daddy up in the Grand Stands fighting back the tears and feeling Like I was swallowing a fucking Basketball when I swallowed when I heard her name called over the Loud speaker for a Trophy.
(now i know how parents feel when their kids win an Olympic Medal. )
The Kid that beat her was Nearly twice her size. My daughter is 68Lbs, he was 101 Lbs. She fought Like hell. Her Opponet never Punced or Kicked her in the body. She BLocked them all. Her problem was, When ever she attacked, his arms was so much Longer, she was walking into his punches.
She did really well for her first tournement experiance.
Now she knows what its like to stand up in front of 400 people and fight someone bigger than her.
She'll do better next time, and if Not So what. At Least she has Courage enough to Try.
My daughter took 5th place in Weapons and got a Medal for Participation.
I am so Lucky to have run into her Instructor. He won his 8th Grand Master Championship since 1978.
I could go on and on about this Tournement but I'll Leave at this and post a few Pic's.
I am so proud of my daughter, all through the tournement I was getting FLash backs of my youth she is so much like her daddy I knew what was going through her mind. Our emotions was One. I was with her Heart & Soul the whole time.
