Hop in a taxi when in BKK and tell them to take you to Panthip Plaza. Have PC and Mac stuff - as well as games, music, DVDs, electronics etc

Fortune town is probably better as it seems less touristy and better prices as well as that you can take the MRT to Phra Ram 9 to get there.

Where as to get to Pantip you have to take BTS and then a long walk or taxi and sometimes can be hard getting a taxi both there and back.

true abut the taxi - if it's evening time, many of the feckers won't want to take you back in Nana direction

Another way to get to Pantip Plaza from Sukhumvit is to take the bus. Yes, I know the bus! It is fairly convenient for the short trip (during non-rush hour traffic).

You can catch aircon bus 511 on the even numbered soi side of sukhumvit, and it will take you to within 1/2 block of Pantip Plaza in the Pratunam area. If it is cool, you can also catch regular bus number 2. It runs more frequently than the aircon bus. Cost is 7 Baht for the regular bus and 12 baht for the air con bus.

When coming back you have to catch the same number bus opposite soi from Pantip Plaza, but look for the ones with the BLUE signs - as these go back to Sukhumvit Road and the yellow sign buses although the same number take another route.

During non-rush hour traffic, you can get to Pantip Plaza in 15 min.

On the return journey the bus will drop you off the odd numbered soi side on Sukhumvit.
