RX, you make a very good point & I don't disagree with you. I would like to know the username for future reference, I just wasn't keen on putting someone's photo on the forum. I don't know what crime would justify that.

I would do 2 things:

- Post the evidence. As Guy said, it all seems vary vague to me right now
- Then post the username to give the guy a chance to defend himself

We have seen 2 examples of similar issues recently:

- Tan admitted to an issue related to another forum, accusations flew on the other forum about how devious/untrustworthy she was, and it seems it was an innocent "mistake" (not even sure you could go as far as to call it a mistake)
- Alaskan Bear was identified by FF, and he admitted to being a "stupid cupid", and it seems that that is acceptable

Without the ability to tell their side of the story, a different end game would have happened to those 2 people.....banned, guilty, burn in hell for all eternity...and no chance to put their side of the story

To Manarak who says it is not my job to review the evidence, then why was the topic even started in the first place? Without the evidence, how can you possibly give an informed opinion? Either the owner just makes a decision and gets on with it, or he asks for feedback but he has to give proper evidence to make that feedback sensible.

I am still convinced that there are multiple reasons why information could get out (see examples of Tan and AB above). A deliberate, proactive sharing of trip reports is just one of them. As with most things in life, there are always shades of grey.

It seemed since you had admitted to being in CM, admitted to knowing Kwang, and were in PI at the time too, that you were fairly likely to get tugged to assist the police with their enquiries.

I didn't assume you were being defensive: I asked you if it was you and you replied "no". You might have noticed at that point I dropped off. I accepted you for your word. For all the above mentioned reasons that I would prefer never to be in the same hemisphere as you, I dont think you are a liar, and am not calling you one.

I do believe there should be consequences, it's just a question of how it's dealt with, be that on the evidence side (love him or hate him, Stewart made some cogent points in that connexion), or the punishment side.

At the end of the day it's Bumpa's call, but I think this thread has allowed us to reflect upon some of the dangers of a heavy-handed approach.
