Having never been to Phuket but plenty of time in Bangkok and Pattaya...I have to vote Pattaya, but I may change my vote after Dec...Plan to spend a week in Phuket before my Christmas holidays in Pattaya...we'll see....Hawk

For me I would have to say that if money were no object then Bangkok just has the edge over Pattaya.

If I were counting the pennies then Pattaya has the edge over Bangkok.

If I wanted to do more than just shag ladyboys then I'd give Phuket careful consideration also.

Greatest Ladyboy experience in Thailand, BKK but only just...

Patt's is cheaper, venues are more plentiful and you can hang out on the (skanky?) beach if you want too. Patt's also has an almost unending parade of new and cute ladyboys, as well the greatest concentration of highly annoying fellow tourists unfortunately..

BKK is where we have met the most interesting and sophisticated ladyboys and where the service (for us as a couple) is the most professional - less disappointments. BKK also has far better shopping and less shitbag tourists per sqare kilometer...

I enjoy my occasional foray to Sodom, and the beaches in Phuket, but the LBs I rate highly are mostly in BKK.  Maybe also cos I love Bangkok as a city

I went with Pattaya, probably more out of newbie inexperience than anything else.

My first trip to LOS took in all three cities, and I was sorely disappointed in Phuket. While Cocktails and Dreams is a world-class ladyboy venue, the rest of the scene left me cold. It was expensive and crowded, and the ladyboys weren't nearly as plentiful as either BKK or Patts.

Bangkok is fantastic, but as already noted, expensive. The venues (Guess Bar, Cascades and Obsessions in particular) are wonderful and the talent is amazing. The city itself is an experience that must be had by all. I could spend a couple of months in Bangkok without doing more than merely scratching the surface of the experiences available.

But for me, Pattaya was the place to be. It's not as beautiful or glamorous as Phuket, it's definitely not cosmopolitan like Bangkok, but it's the sheer weight and volume of the sex trade that made this the choice for me. With clubs such as EZY, Famous, Stringfellows, La Bamba, Pook's Swan, Pook's Soi 6, Lucky Love, So What!, Kit Kat Club/Obsessions, Hi Boss, Jenny Star (English) Bar, Performance, or the plethora of one-off ladyboys to be found in almost every beer bar or freelancing along Walking Street or Beach Road (the famous "Coconut Bar"), it was the city that was made just for me. It's less expensive than either of the other options, the action is more relaxed and easy going, and the girls just seemed more fun than their more jaded counterparts in points more glamorous.

I reserve the right to change my opinion as I experience more of what Bangkok has to offer, though.

I agree with Bumpa - he's spot on.

Bangkok is the best place for ladyboys if you can spend 8k to 10k baht a day.
For that money, you will get the finest BKK has to offer, chose from hundreds of LBs... live!
There is no thing such as Cascade or Obsessions in Pattaya or Phuket.

Pattaya comes close second thanks to the "value for money" factor.
You will have to do quite some legwork (or rent a scooter) in Pattaya to see as much LBs as in Nana Plaza, and chances are you will not come accross LBs who are so feminine as in Nana.

Phuket kinda combines the negatives of BKK and Pattaya: rates, both for hotels and the girls are on the higher side and the choice is reduced.
But the beaches are superb and the landscape of pang na bay is breathtaking.

I really enjoyed Phuket for all the outdoor activities; the diving and kayaking mostly.
It's not all bout the mongering for me. I don't like to drink to excess, and I can only get it up and off once or twice a day, so that leaves a lot of time to do other stuff.

I also really enjoyed Chaing Mai for similar reasons; the sightseeing, the hiking and river trip. Oh yeah, and the zip line thing in the forest was really fun as well.
There is so much amazing outdoor stuff to do in Thailand, I love it.

There was a time I never would have thought I would say it, but Pattaya by a long long way...

I can recall after spending many trips exclusively in BKK with a 2 or 3 day side trip to Pattaya
telling the BKK crowd that I was gonna change my base to Pattaya...For no reason other than I
had grown tired of BKK and the traffic and the bars and the attitudes...Our illustrious leader, Bumpa,
told me at the time, "You won't like it."  He was wrong...But I realize that Pattaya is not for everyone...

And there is plenty to do in Pattaya without spending your time in ladyboy bars...or in any bars for
that matter...I seldom visit the bars unless a friend finds his way to town...

I was lucky though...I found a lovely young creature to take care of this ugly old guy...And while I really
wasn't looking, I could never have found her in BKK...

If you're here for a short holiday and looking for the easy quick fuck...BKK and Nana Plaza win...In
all honesty my experience in Phuket is very limited...I visited Phuket once maybe 5 years ago...I don't
care to return...Truth is I don't much care to visit BKK either...

For a real ladyboy adventure, Pattaya is indeed the place...Trust me, they're everywhere...
