Rommo, if i fly from heathrow, i go with thai airways, a little more expensive but worth the money coz they really look after you (and a lot more leg room-qantas are crap, like being in a bus ) or from manchester with emirates . As for money I take sterling to bkk and exchange there ( lot better rates), you can save yourself up to 70-100 quid in the thousand, dont listen to the bollocks about no commision in england and 70 quid gives a lot in the land of smiles. Also book a double hotel room (ive booked in at the majestic suites(got a room safe and good value for money and get no hassle ), then they cant charge you for guests, because if your not careful you will be charged up to an extra 1000baht per night which can prove costly, look for guest friendly hotels, plus dont let the girls know your a newbie because they will have your bollocks (i,e. your cash ), I played dumb with a protential encounter saying I was a newbie and was quoted 4000baht, which is way way over the top (1500 baht max for 3-4 hours). When are you thinking of going to thailand rommo? ( im there april 12th)
Glad we have the same taste wisetraveller and if your in bkk for the songkran maybe we can hook up for a beer.
p.s. im still a lb virgin, need help
