I'm with you on that one manarak. I bet she got picked up by Immigration when she arrived in UAE. They might have known or been tipped off that she was coming there since she did publish this on her own website.

So they pull her into the red room and do a search. They ask her "why did you come here? Business or Pleasure?" she says "pleasure" and they go through her stuff, find business cards, check her computer... they know why she's really there. This is enough for them to arrest her.

There are plenty of posts on CL for TS in Dubai - all charging around 20,000 baht a time. I have just seen one for a Phils LB so I sent a private message by mail and was immediately given her mobile number.

Won't take long for Dubai's finest to round them up if it's that obvious... mind you, I know of an airline steward that was arrested when the cops busted an undergroung gay/drag party at a club in Dubai. The charging officer called him after he was released and suggested the meet for a drink some time...

This is a difficult one to judge, there could be a simple expanation -she met someone and has gone off on a jaunt somewhere; or there was a family crisis back home and she had to drop everything and go there, which she would and not just because she is Thai but because she is caring and sensible.

Wrong to publish her schedule in advance? The most well-known Arab transexual I can think of posted her schedules in advance and told me she had never had a problem in either the UAE or the other Arab countries she visited. The problem with the UAE is that any indiscretion will be punished, even more so if a local Arab has initiated the complaint. She could have been having something to eat or shopping in a Mall and some suspicious mind alerted the police, or something like that. Abu Dhabi is a bit more conservative than Dubai, I know both and unless I was there for a long time I would practice self-restraint, you never know who is looking and with such a small Arab community there aren't many degrees of separation between the guy who owns an internet cafe and the royal family. But if the Emirates are going to push their image as the most liberal state in Arabia and attract 2 million tourists a year, they will have to chill out on some things -after all, sex between males is still illegal in Singapore and nobody' fucks' with the police in that place.

It works as long as you play by their rules, like them or not.

Craigslist is there for all to see, it is a risk in so many countries, but for the girls and also for us, there are times when any encounter, without prior warning, can turn into a risky, even a life-threatening situation. Let's just hope that she is safe and well.

The Middle Eastern states seem to have their own ideas about justice that at times have nothing to do with justice or even common sense.

More worryingly as Grinder points out they will jail people and apparently forget about them.
I know of one trivial pollution incident in the early 1980's where they did just that.
In any civilised country he would have been questioned and immediately released on payment of the bail bond.
From experience I don't regard the Middle East as civilized.

I hope Tia is OK but as I indicated above I think she has been unwise.
