I've thought about this long and hard and come to the conclusion that the best was is to lie to the ladyboy most of the time. I couldn't think of any rational reason why they should be told the truth.
The way I look at it is, as long they don't suffer any grievous harm from our lies, what's  the rationale in telling them the truth? Do most of them deserve it? Do they bother?
Or better still, do most of them think most of us are liars?
