I have just read this entire thread for the first time - what else would I rather do on a Sunday lunchtime in BKK? I'm glad we got back to the original subject of the stabbing. Whether the story is true or not surely misses the point. What's important is how to react to the situation. I think it's unfair to criticise the original BM on his immediate reaction. I hate to be ripped off, which is why I always bring the girl back to my hotel to avoid the cost of the s/t room (the hotel is within walking distance of NEP). Other advantages of this are the availability of the in-room safe (which I ALWAYS use) and defensive weapons, not that I have ever had to use them, thank god; from memory, s/t rooms are bereft of available candlesticks and the like to ward off an aggressor. And I don't like to be threatened for money, as this is tantamount to being ripped off, so I don't know how I'd react - I guess I'd do an instantaneous risk analysis and decide.

I agree about the need to defuse a tricky situation. By nature I am a peaceful guy, and believe in talking before shooting (or stabbing). The only difficult situation I have encountered was a year ago in Pattaya with Moo of Jenny Star Bar, about which I wrote in this forum. She refused to leave my room unless I paid her an additional 1,000 baht, so I eventually gave her 500 and left her to be escorted out by the hotel staff (it was the Penthouse in Soi 13/4) while I returned to JSB and eventually got my 500 back from the manager/owner.

Someone mentioned earlier being able to read BM's reports on the girls. Well that is easier said than done unless you are a regular blogger, which I am not. Could the forum start a simple list of LBs, organised by bar, showing LB name, a score out of 10 (say) and space to add a comment? I realise it would take a bit of administering, especially as girls move between bars, but I would imagine BMs might find this very helpful. Easy for me to suggest as I won't be the one setting this up!

It isn't a crime to be young & good looking. And free sex is one of those things that can happen to young, good looking guys.

The operative word is "can" because sex is the tradable commodity the girls have for sale. And anytime I have heard of someone getting it for free, it is a carrot being offered  by a girl to entice a more tolerable partner to stick around.

But it happens & if someone were to report that they had the good fortune to score a free shag, I would say good luck to 'em. After all, superstars from the bars are known to pay young Thai guys to shag 'em so why wouldn't they grab a spunky farang?
