This story is a load of rubbish and here's why...

1 - It was posted on Stickman.

Any reader of that 'Red Top' already knows that anything on that site is unlikely to be the whole truth and nothing but the truth. The cranky old New Zealander is just trying to make his site interesting.

2 - The supposed attacked happened to a really nice chap who sensibly weighed up his options and tried to do the right thing.

These incidents happen to loonies, drunks, newbies and imbeciles. They NEVER happen to seasoned players who have a sixth sense about these things.

3 - A knife attack in a short time room surrounded by people.

Not very likely. These things happen far away from the bars and usually in hotel rooms. Even a drug addled crazy ladyboy would have to be pushed to the limit to pull a knife and stab someone in a short time room.

Now - it's likely that incidents like this have happened. But this one is just bollocks!

I agree, it does seem sort of strange to have not heard a word from someone else about this - 'oh, you were the guy running through Nana soaked in blood the other night'. Anytime I hear a story like that - where someone did absolutely nothing, and a bargirl suddenly goes insane for no reason, I am suspicious.

I've certainly seen horribly aggressive behavior. But there are things that just don't add up in this story, I think. If it did get to that point, especially from Cascades, a lot of things must be missing from the account.

If she was completely iced out, then there are obvious warning signs of that. Seasoned traveler that he claims to be, why did he go anywhere with her in that kind of state? Or, are we to believe that a ladyboy acted calm and nice, and then instantly freaked out with a knife the moment she arrived to the ST room? I suppose it's possible, but very unlikely.

Also, I probably would have heard about it, frankly. 'Ladyboy stab customer, now no work bar'. But, not a word. All I ever hear about Cascades every night is 'vely boling, no customah'. An event like that, if it were true, would have made the rounds a little faster. I think 'stickman' is full of untrue information, actually. People love to talk about how 'evil' ladyboys are all the time.

Again, I just don't understand these stories. I had one very bad experience with the Mamasan(s) at Carnival, but the girls themselves...never a bad time. In a place like Cascades, if you're careful and cool with yourself, not to be rushed and no hard feelings towards anyone - then it's basically going to be a pretty easy night. It's SE Asia - show no anger. Show no frustration, or you're dead meat, even at the food stand.

All I hear every night from my gf is 'vely boling, no customah'. There are an army of beautiful girls there who would be very willing to provide a ejoyable evening, if they think they've found a respectful and fun person to get paid a little bit from.

And NOW, with Carnival officially going all GG (and ALL those cuties now working at Cascades, starting tonight), all you have to do is get past the doorway crowd, find new and exciting ways to say no without offending, and you're off to the races.

I have to say, after reading the forums for the first time in a while, I feel very lucky to have the sweetest fulltime girlfriend from there. As long as I don't butterfly on her (as she always knows instantly if I do!), then I basically have my needs pretty well met on a nightly basis - and without pay. That started with a barfine, where I ended up taking her to dinner and listening to her for a while. I really believe, if you want the pick of the crop, just surprise them first with who you really are, and pick substance over flash. Typical farangs get typical treatment in Bangkok.

Take it from me that Doug is not bullshitting here. Im sure guys like me Doug and other hardened campaigners do in fact keep the Radar switched on but obiously were are only human ( well at least i am anyway)

No matter if you think you are Capt. Sensible , the odds are that the more Ladboys you take the more chance of a bad night. Just like flying in a plane..all planes are roughly the same but fly 13,000 times and the odds are that you will end up in Davy Jones Locker. No doubt about it

The orginal stab guy may have fabricated the story a little bit but fuck me so do half the guys here. Do you think that everything you read here is honest...some guys are buried up to their neck in bullshit
