Join the club; for about 5 years I was always 38 whenever someone asked me, and after a few years you forget who you have and haven't told that to, etc.....so some girl from Nana  may say "oh, really...but weren't you 38 last year?  and the year before that? and....."  

   After a while I had 'em all convinced it was strictly an American thing, kinda like the dog-year conundrum.
