Guys - thanks for all the positive responses. I've been out of the pocket now for the last week or so (in Koh Phangan!) and just arrived in Pattaya last night for "one last hurrrah" before my flight back home early tomorrow .

Some quick notes on my Burma trip for those that might find a trip there of interest. It's definitely not: a p4p or sex destination, at least as far as I can tell. I suspect there may be some sort of action near Mandalay but I didn't spend any time there. Cheap flights are available from Bangkok to Yangoon, the old capital (as low as $18 each way) and it's only 45 minutes so a very easy trip. Visas are required but should be easy to get from your local embassy. I personally wouldn't plan on spending much time in Yangoon as there's not a whole lot of great significance there. Two absolute "must sees" are: Bagan, which is 3 small cities / towns with a collection of over 2,000 pagodas and Inle Lake, basically a series of floating villages in an stunning setting.

Regarding Bagan, I'm not a hugely religious person, and the last thing I'd want to do in Europe is visit a "a bunch of churches" but for somoe reason I found this place captivating. I'd plan on spending a night or two here. I stayed at the Bagan Thande Hotel. It's a lovely little spot right on the river with an amazing view.

Plan on staying at least 2 nights in Inle Lake. If you have a friend with you, get a floating hotel room directly on the lake; otherwise, like me you may want to stay in Nueng Shwe which is a short boat ride from the lake. You'll be blown away at how the floating villagers live around the lake. Each sub village is responsible for some sort of trade, i.e. farming, blacksmith, canoe making, cigar/cigarette making, etc. You can travel from one village to the other by vote and take a step back in time to see that their lives, a part from intermittent electricity really hasn't changed all that much in hundreds, if not thousands, of years. Again, the people are "all smiles" which is absolutely genuine.

You can hire a guide from anywhere from $15 to $25 a day depending on if you book direct or through an agency. Unless you want a wild overland adventure, I would plan on flying to these destinations. Taxis from airports are easy, just do a bit of negotiating but for the most part the prices are clearly marked for the better known destinations. Try and utilize non government airlines, hotels, etc. and get your money in the peoples' hands. The government is an absolute joke and rules with an iron fist. Bring US dollars in brand new condition (I can't stress this enough). The best exchange rates are found in Yangoon. Something like 1,200 per $1US. I can recommend a good travel agent if you need help with your plans. I would travel with antibiotics for "traveler's diarrhea" and be careful what you eat. I got very adventurous and paid the price ; )

As I mentioned previously, the Burmese people are extremely friendly. They are also very poor, on average. It's eye opening to see a people who have so little in western terms yet seem much happier by living without the emotional complications that come from filling your life with material possessions and capitalistic pursuits.

Okay, on to the rest of my Thailand trip. After 5 nights in Burma, I came back to BKK and had a flight to Phuket. Note: if you ever come in to BKK on an international flight be sure to give yourself plenty of time to make the domestic transfer! I didn't and had to buy a new ticket. Phuket was fine, but honestly, I probably won't be back. It reminds me of a huge American spring break party. Just not my thing right now. I could stand for that if there were a great ladyboy scene but I wasn't overly impressed. Don't get me wrong - C&D is great, with great owners and talent, but otherwise, it felt like slim pickings compared to BKK and Patts. Pictures below of my booty in Phuket. South Thailand is gorgeous and I spent 5 nights on Koh Phangan, reading, relaxing and making new friends with some fellow travelers. I will definitely try to return to Koh Phangan.

Last night in Pattaya was great. I started the night around 9PM and first stop was Soi 8, The Blue Dragon. Abosolutely dead so moved on from here. Next up was La Bamba. Great little spot with lots of ladies. It was too early to take one home for the night so I sampled the ST room. Ended up with a gal named Oh. Petite, no boobs, but very pretty and sexy. Unfortunately, she was a bit rushed, and not all that eager once the clothes came off. Not a big problem as she was "good enough" but I probably wouldn't take her again. Next up was Soi 14 and WS. I was on the lookout for Bee. No luck there so I would check out EZY. Found it and chatted up several hotties, including Oh, while having some more drinks. Didn't take to anyone especially so continued on my journey and my last stop for the night - - Stringfellows. More of the same - swarmed by ladies - where you from? how long you here? where you stay? The same questions but it's a good way to warm up to the ladies. By this time it was 2AM and I had to pick one as it was closing time. Unfortunately, I don't remember her name and I didn't have my camera in action but take my word for it - - she was hot! She stayed at my place (Pattaya Bay Resort) for the night and I actually fell asleep without fucking her! I know, crazy. I was a little frustrated as she was sooo tight I couldn't get it in her and went a little soft so it compounded the problem. Oh well, we made up for it in the morning

Just a couple of random notes here in case BMs find them useful:

1. There's a great bus, 200 baht one way to Pattaya from the airport. They take you direct to your hotel. Go to door 7 on the first floor and look for "Bell Travel" or "Bell Transport".

2. A super cheap kitchen at the airport, geared towards the workers, can be found on the 1st floor past door number 7.

3. Re: The Place to Stay in Phuket, Tom is a great guy but I would re, re-confirm your reservation once you've confirmed it. I think I caught him on an off day as he didn't have my reservation recorded. Fortunately, no one had booked suite 2 so no problems.

This has been a great trip filled with some enlightening adventures (Burma), complete relaxation (Koh Phangan) and absolute fuck festivities (BKK, Phuket, and Pattaya)! Enjoy.
