This subject is a very valid one and worthy of a poll.

The problem is that the poll choices have been compiled by someone who isn't objective and has failed to consider any reasonable options other than the only one that seems reasonable to them.

An educated (they do exist) LB bar worker from Nana Plaza told me that 50% of the Thai people do not like LBs at all.

This whole photo issue is becoming more, and more, serious.

* Most LBs and GGs do not object to normal photos unless they have a sponsor
* It is not the photo that is the problem but the context/pose
* The real issue is that many guys ask to take photos for personal use AND then post on the internet.

There is a difference between asking and stating how someone may use them.

If a GG/LB does a professional photo shoot she normally signs a 'Release Form' stating her age and rescinding all rights to those photos. No issue - she was paid for the shoot.

The real problem is the guy who says 'May I take some photos for me' and the liberally posts.

So surely the answer is to be just plain honest:

'May I take some photos and, is it alright to post on the Internet?'

Next issue is that we all assume that the GGs/LBs are uneducated - maybe so but they are becoming more savvy with the internet. They now click on TLF and see all that is said/posted. No registration just view.

Sure, they are in to P4P business, but that does not give someone the right to post photos that were taken 'for personal use'.

On the other hand if someone pays for a photo shoot, and the subject knows where they will end up, then no issue.

Honesty is the best policy and should avoid later problems.  If you try to sneak under the Radar and then get shot down it is your ass/problem.

The Grey area is the GG/LB who, later, adopts a sponsor - now she wants to change the situation to protect her new 'image'.

Same rule applies - Paid Photo shoot - tough - you signed a disclaimer etc. Personal photos appearing to a broader audience - maybe she has a case out of respect.

Personally I prefer 'suggestive' pics - I like to unwrap my own 'gift'. So explicit photos (which is what they are really objecting too) would become an issue.

It always amazes me in Thailand that the GGs and LBs do not see themselves as 'whores' but just making a living. That cannot be said for the 'ladies of the night' in the West.

Donnny - got pretty much 'nuked' for his comment BUT, to a degree, he is right. Many, NOT ALL, LBs have been on the scene, in one form or another, since much younger than 18. I also know of stories where the LB was coaxed/coached into entering the P4P scene by her family - she had become a potential 'premium' income earner for the family - that is a reality in poorer countries - somehow they just do not see it in the same light as the West

I haven't done pictures yet myself but my thought on the matter are that our chief concern should be to be fair to the ladyboys, which unfortunately is not a black and white matter. Some want pictures taken and posted, some don't, some are indifferent and some want it then later change their mind. I personally think that it is generally alright to post as the vast majority who let themselves generally do so under the implicit understanding that there is a substantial potential for it to show up in a forum like this. Who knows maybe they also share our pics among their friends, as most of them seem to have enough pics of costumers on their phones and seem to now and again know me before I even talk to them(this would also explain why they are all so well informed on our movements).

If and when you get an objection, you don't post it or take it down if it is already up (I think current board policy).

As for legal considerations, although technically relevant, this argument rings a little hollow as the content on this board revolve around p4p scene that is technically illegal, so that would really be a larger liability if we were taking legal considerations into account.

I think, some are stated by wiser and more seasoned board members before, but I thought I would add my two cents.

Finally, this board is titillating to most of us because it allows us graphic reminders of exciting moments experienced or to be experienced in LOS. You take these reminders away and you can potentially end up killing this board and the enjoyment it brings.

i should have elaborated more ,But i stick by what i say.
I have travelled extensively in Thailand and into the back booms  and country estates of many a thai ladyboy and girl.I played the dump farang ATM machine, and boy did i have my eyes opened.dixon coxs and big tell and bumpa stika, If you  think this is utter bollocks  then i cant change your mind.

donnnnnny, I think you may have become jaded - if you believe that MOST of the lbs working in bars either owned by Thais or by farangs have been groomed by their families to become sex workers. I think Rossco may have it more accurate that some are.

While I haven't traveled in the back country much as you have I noticed the following. Families from Isaan place a higher demand on children - both lbs and ggs to support the family (including the extended family). I don't think this means that MOST groom their lb children or girls to become sex workers. However, unfortunately this seems to be the easiest way for the children to earn money to support their families. Strange they don't have the same expectation for the sons.

I have also visited Chiang Mai and Uthai Thani, and I haven't seen the same kind of pressure on the lbs from these areas.

The pics I take when I'm in C&D are all with the girls knowledge that they will be posted on the net. They see the power of advertising and have no issues with it. Any that did not want their pics taken- I respect their decision. Any phots taken back at my place are for personal enjoyment, not to provide wanking material for lurkers so I don't publish them. Personaly I ask Forums members not to publish pics on the net which show my face- mainly due to the fact that I don't know where the pics can end up if someone wants to use them in a fit of picque.
