Why not make a asiants cd?

Hiya, just wondering would your AMAZING website ever considure making a cd containing your whole libary of pics and movies (okay it will need to be on then more then 1 cd).

But it would be good as then with people like me, who do not have broadband, we can see all the movies easily.

(sorry if I have put this subject up before, though it has seem to have vanished).

It sounds like a great idea doesn't it!

However, businesswise it's suicide!

This web site is huge and if we were to give it away on a CD (or more realistically a DVD) then why would anyone sign up!

We would quickly follow the music industry's downwards trip to obscurity!

We have over 700 galleries and hours and hours of video. If you had it on a DVD at home would you pay a monthly fee for the new stuff?

well maybe you could release say a 2000-2001 edition, basically an annual, and charge a relistic fee to make it worth while.

One of our rival sites used to give away a DVD of selected models. After a certain length of time as a member you could claim your free copy and have it mailed to you. I don't know if this concept caused them any problems, but they promoted the idea for a long time.

Yes, this actually sounds good to me also, and I have spoken to several people in the Valley about how to make and distribute DVD's. The problem isn't in making the vids, we already have that content just sitting in boxes going to waste. The problem is getting the material on to a DVD and then finding a distributor who will not rob us blind and leave some crumbs for the people who actually produced the stuff.

from what I understand, it is a dog-eat-dog world out there in the shady underground of DVD production, and the people who do the actual video work make the least cake. Will keep you posted......obviously just making them individually out of my garage for sale to ATS members would be a giant drain on our time, but if we can find a trustworthy distributor we would love to recycle what we have collecting dust now.


in the meantime, get broadband if you can!!!
