'Big Trouble in Thailand' on Sky TV

It's all a bit like the Ibiza crap that was forever being shown on Sky1, Sky 2, Dave,
Hooligan on holiday1 channels etc.

It would be much more interesting to watch a programme about how naive falangs get roped in to marraige, buying houses/land and how they get ripped off.

The programme makers would never consider the real scams like the Duty Free robbery crap that's being going on but hey, a young tearful english rose so innocently caught up in a terrible mistake... that's make's the editors cut

"In today's Bangkok Post report, Wanasiri Morakul, director of the Thailand Film Office, is quoted as saying those responsible for the show had violated Article 34 of the motion picture law by failing to submit the footage to the Tourism and Sports Ministry for approval before its broadcast abroad.

Director-general of the Office of Tourism Development, Seksan Nakawong, reportedly said the film-makers had violated Article 23 of the same law for making a film damaging to Thailand's reputation.

Meanwhile, Region 8 police chief Lt Gen Santhan Chayanont has suggested the TV show was a deliberate attempt to tarnish the image of Thai tourism and the police force."

my father has watched both episodes, and to hear his view is interesting.
he thinks they have made it look like a dangerous, scary shithole.
he said all the arseholes that were around spanish resorts 20 years ago have just moved to thailand.
he is wondering why i go, and wouldnt go if you payed him.
i think he has visions of me painting my skin, and giving it large at the full moon party.
why are they so upset that the jetski scam has been revealed, its been going for years.?
i wonder what would happen if some more of the real truths were shown.
gold necklace snatches, motorbike bag snatches, pickpockets etc.....

This is the big problem with these 'documentaries' they show a very narrow view of what the country as a whole is all about. Can you get ripped off or robbed or score drugs in London, New York or LA. of course you can but it doesn't make 'good' TV.
