watched it this avvy during the thunderstorm. The trailer for next week looks like it features the ladyboy pepperspray TPV. Howard was looking good in uniform with his police 'parachute wings' on- what a prat!

This documentary is (so far) riddled with inconsistancies...

Much of it is staged for the cameras.

Anyone who has any dealings with Thai rogues would know that they are camera shy and would never put on a display like the one shown by the shameless owner of the jet ski companies... and his English was just too good.

Also - there is some seriously bad avdvice given here on how to deal with them.

Another thing - The plastic plod thugs are NOT permitted to deal directly with Thai people accused or suspected of drug activity and this is for their own safety.

Young girl dragged off for possession of cannabis is then allowed out of jail for a hug with her boyfriend? For fucks sake, give me a break!

Enjoy the show for what it is - a rather transparent attempt to make Thailand look scarier than it really is. It's an interesting program but by no means is it indicative of how anything really works out here.

I know they say nothing was staged, but i dont normally take a film crew with me when on holiday, or do only the british navy do this ?

The other great line was "I can't get hold of someone because of the time differences". What their afraid of waking someone up to tell them they have been arrested and in a Thai jail on Drugs charges? If I ever had a child and they were in the same situation I'd be on the first plane out there. I can smell a Hollywood ending with either a compasionate judge or some night in shining armour coming through. All bollox. Still hope to see lot's of farang dickheads getting twatted all over the shop. Great viewing on a Monday night.

I took the trouble to download it and found it fine, relaxing lunch time viewing.

Isn't amazing the total lack of commonsense displayed by some units?

Isn't also intersting to see the scamee demographic: my guess is mostly under 25 years old. Why? because they are more likely to panic and fold under pressure: see JJ and the jetski as a classic example, and young whats her name signing a confession, in Thai, untranslated as evidence.

Regarding JJ and the camera. Think Jerry Springer. Some people are vouyeristic, some are exhibitionists. JJ is the second kind. He thought (incorrectly although he was probably told as much) that this would never air on Thai TV, and also my guess is, as a young spiv on the rise having a video of himself being Mr Mafia stroked his ego.

Biggest Wanker of the show? The Sargent at Arms (or whatever) from the Royal Marines that comes to JJ's shack armed with his Batman Utility belt, ("Stop! or I'll hit you with my binoculars!") enters the scene like John Wayne in a too small G-string, calls JJ a crook, and gets exactly nothing for his trouble with the fine young Sailor STILL forking over 35,000 baht. Showed with 100% accuracy exactly how NOT to deal with trouble in Thailand: Confrontational yelling and name calling. A nice sweet loss of face all captured on Video. Wanker.

Please someone, bring on the second episode!
