Very good point. Unfortunately, many farangs never understand this. Most farangs do not know how boring their lives are. Because they dislike the loud noise, the crazy crowd and the endless chaos in Asia, they actually think Asians must hate it too. Think about this - whenever an Asian city is richer or more modernized, they call it "westernized".
If you are not willing to move to Thailand with her, why would she be willing to Farang land with you? automatically assume your homeland is a better place (for her) is dead wrong. So she must have some additional "motivations". That motivations may not be in line with your wishful thinking.

If you've ever been dragged down Oxford Street in London by your girlfrined and forced to go to places like TopShop you'll notice there are a ton of Thai women in varying ages spending their "Sponsers" money. You can tell the former bar girls as they still can't help but dress slutty (mind you I love that). Make of it what you will. I'd never do it personally but if it makes you happy I'm not going to tell someone how to spend their time and money, but be aware of the cultural differences or it's never going to work. Mind you like I said earlier there are a couple of older Thai women in there as well so obviously someone's made it work.

I've always found Chinese women to have far better qualities when it comes to a LTR. Much more froogle when it comes to spending money and very loyal, just don't mention Tibet

Guess your experiences have been different to mine. My Girlfiend gets mad when she thinks I've spent too much money on her. She says I should save it for the future. As you point out YMMV and we are making very broad generalisations here.

I think the fact that we are only 3 years apart and she is educated as trained nurse has a lot to do with it as well. She is mainland Chinese and has only been in the west for 4 years. But I have no idea what your situation was. No one likes being shafted.

Also just because a Chinese girl doesn't react when you criticise China in anyway doesn't mean you haven't pissed them off. Nothing pisses them off more than when westerners criticise their country. They are just a lot better at hidding it. They are fiercly patriotic.

My own opinion on this topic is, they are always going to be whores/hookers/escorts/bargirls or whatever way you want to phrase it. Hell you can even call her a courtesan to make it sound glamorous

The only difference will be, you wont be paying an hourly rate. You will be paying a weekly or monthly rate. Paying for that new bag, that new phone, new Chanel make-up, new shoes, etc etc etc. I call them stealth taxes and they all add up, and they add up to alot more than if you just didnt fall in love with a prostitute compared to enjoying your trips to Thailand as a butterfly, and pay the going rates for short times.

I've only been to Asia seven times, and only two of those times I was free and single, and they were by far the best trips I have ever had.

Another thing about this topic that someone said earlier, is the age difference. Like if your young there might be a better chance of a relationship working with a 20 year old hot ladyboy. Thats complete bollocks. I feel the younger guys are more likely to get "shafted" because they are thinking the exact same thing. Oh am young, so she must love me. I doubt the Chinese are any different to any other proud nationality. It seems fair they might get upset at criticism directed at their homeland. I have never noticed "fierce patriotism" however.

What I have noticed is the notion that they deserve to succeed. Many Chinese arriving in the west, or specifically Australia, consider themself to be smarter & harder working, therefore entitled to get ahead. This idea that Australians are indolent layabouts is endemic in their thinking.

An ex-employee, a Chinese girl who spoke fluent Mandarin, Cantonese & Japanese with English as her 4th language was studying for her Masters degree in International Diplomacy confirmed my opinion. She said to me that the average Chinese consider Australians to be both stupid & lucky. Lucky where we were born, stupid that we don't have to work hard to make it. She said they soon realise just how industrious Australians are once they get here.
