I just feel better being able to lock up passport, credit cards, etc. in a either a room safe or front desk safe, but since koh joy isn't a hotel that option is not available to me. I like staying in an obviously LB friendly place but don't want any hassles on my vacation.Leave a comment:

Guest repliedKohJoy rooms are less than 5 min walk to Soi Bangla. They are just off 200 pee road on the way to the Paradise Centre. Not all rooms have a security box. Room number two has a lock box inside a locked room. But I have to say I left my brand new Toshiba laptop in the room with everyting else and never had anything taken.Leave a comment:

Guest repliedThanks Ozzie. . .
Does anyone have a good location for KohJoy? It looks like the ideal place to stay. Anyone else have any opinions on the place??? Thanks.

Guest repliedAre you referring to the cabaret/restaurant they used to have or Cocktails and Dreams? If you mean Cocktails and Dreams then I am pretty sure you are wrong. Nick is a good mate of mine and we talk regularly and he has not mentioned this to me. If you mean the Cabaret then yes this has been closed down for about a year but the still do visting cabarets at hotels etc. Now they have rooms where the restuarant used to be see Koh JoyOriginally posted byConcerning Koh Joy...I believe they are not doing business anymore...or rather the lack of business made Nick close it down
To MaliMike I have stayed at KohJoy every time I have visited Patong and had no problem. The rooms are clean have aircon and a fan, quite spacious and very close to all the action.Leave a comment:

Return to phuket
Hello all. . .well, I am finally back on the net after a few months away. Took a while to catch up on all the news. I am returning to Phuket at the end of March and hope some of you more recent visitors could let me know what's what. I stayed at the SanSabai Bungalows last time (April 2004). The construction was started, but didn't seem to be going on while I stayed there. Wasn't disturbed by noise at all. Is it still going on and doesn anyone have a completion date? Also thinking of staying at KohJoy, any advice on that? I'll be staying down there for about 11 days, and can't wait. Keep the good posts coming. laters
