I will give the Reader's Digest condensed version for the announcement.

On April 28 there will be an event for all registered contestants. It goes from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm in the Central Court ground floor of the new Pattaya Central World shopping centre. Of course it will be all in Thai, basically it is an information session for the contestants on how to prepare and what to expect when they start selection of the 30 for final night on May 15.

There will be other events the first 4 days of May in the shopping centre - sounds like there will be admission fees, then May 11-14 the selection for the final 30 begins.

For non-Thai speakers, it will probably be boring, but April 28 will be a good time to see around 70-80 beautiful lbs trying to make a dream come true.

I was there on April 28 in Central World Bangkok.

The night before I had a session with a LB who told me she bought a pair of jeans for 17 000 B in Central World, so by curiosity the next morning as I had nothing to do, I had a look over there.

The gods were on my side , as the presentation of that event took place. There was lots of Thai press and one other farang taking pictures. I only had my compact with me, took some pictures. Then I rushed to the hotel by taxi in heavy traffic to get my DSLR.

When I was back, I missed a lot, I was able to take more pictures for about one hour. i can not post now, do not even know how to upload.

I had a chat with my favorite candidate. Her English was good. Most come from middle class families. The majority of the girls is about 18 to 21 years.

Peroxide white teeth and classy girls, do not expect to see slut wear. The second clip says it all.

Most were in company of their Thai BF.

Reflections, I think lemontree26's observations make it unlikely that you could "make it" with a contestant after the show.

As reported by Snapper    on another thread the contestants are staying at Woodlands Resort in Naklua.
Think Woodlands has the same owner as Tiffany's.

This is an easy walk from Dolphin Roundabout, not even as far as Family Bar but on the opposite side of the street.

Hot off the presses, Miss Tiffany Universe 2009 Sorrawee Nattee, centre. 2nd runner up Napatsawan Cholakorn right, 1st runner up Wirittorn Narapaipimol left (was also 1st runner up in 2007)

More photos to follow. A bit of a controversy, the first time I've ever seen or heard of for Miss Tiffany Universe. It was originally announced no. 13 Wirittorn Narapaipimol was 2nd runner up. Then an apology was made and she was called back. Then no. 18 Napatasawn Cholakorn was announced as 2nd runner up.

I watched this and was a little confused myself and had to go
harassing Lolo when she got home 555..
Not the first time they made mistakes,i remember back in 04
after the show they were swapping cheques around because the
announced the wrong girl as miss congeniality..
Tonight though,i thought the winner was announced with muted silence..

I think it's pretty clear that this, and every contest in Thailand is fixed.

It has been rumored in the past that there have been "locked" winners for Miss Tiffany Universe, I think this year may have been an exception. No. 13 was the clear crowd favorite and has been working at the Tiffany Show for a while, plus she was 1st runner up in 2007. Most of the lb grapevine had her tipped as the winner. However, my companions for the evening said no. 26, the winner gave a great impromptu speech in the final 3 which probably swayed the judges.
