Well, first post here, but I hope you don't mind me resurrecting this old thread a little. Detailed conversation on this topic is thin on the ground, except for these forums.
The pros and cons of Thai vs Pinay, eh? Well, as has been stated any number of times, it depends on your tastes.
For me, I'm into someone sexy as hell, but also someone I can hold a conversation with. I'm not really into short-time pay for play. It's fun and so on, and i make no moral judgement about it, but it's not my personal scene. I know I'm going to sound like a complete wuss for saying this, but do find sex a lot more enjoyable, uninhibited, and often less formulaic if there's an intellectual connection there. In that respect, Pinay girls win hands down.
I find the Pinay sense of humour also (with the right girl - mostly the educated ones) to be closer to the Aussie sense of humour too, in that there aren't the cultural misunderstandings around sarcasm etc. Pinay girls will often make me laugh out loud with some clever bit of word-play, as opposed to merely jokey faces and slapstick.
Because the pay-for-play scene isn't as in your face as LOS, it's possible to meet a well educated Pinay girl who speaks articulate english, and who is genuinely and culturally interested in a foreigner, without the automatic stigma attached in Thailand. A Thai girl from a 'respected' family may face some friction in dating a falang. Not so in the PI.
On the other side of the equation, the PI is also a very class-driven society. albeit in different ways. You need a college degree for what we would consider very simple work here. And, of course, what this means is that a large section of the community, Tgirl or not, are excluded from anything other than rudimentary types of employment - and I'm not just talking provincial issues here, but even in a highly urbanised environment. Also, there is certainly more cultural bias towards Tgirls in the PI, meaning, for example, that at many colleges they are required to cut their hair, dress male and so on. The fact that this sort of discrimination exists in places like universities, for God's sake, which in theory should be antidiscriminatory almost as a mandate, speaks volumes. Professionally in some organisations, there are ceilings to how high a Tgirl there can rise.
The sum total of this is interesting if you're after more than a pay-for-play girl. There is a reason the majority of Tgirl internet scamming is coming from the PI - asking for money right away etc when it seems like an ostensible 'friendship'. If you're a pinay TS, and uneducated, then your options are extremely limited. Becuse of the excellent English, the slightly greater pervasiveness of technology, and the slightly more 'western' mindset (as someone has pointed out already, we're talking a country that has been under almost constant overt or de-facto colinization, most recently by American culture) Pinay girls make EXCELLENT liars. Much more so than the traditional my buffalo is sick / I need tuition money etc etc etc schtick you get from a Thai girl. This is why you should deal extremely cautiously with Pinay girls, unless they are independantly wealthy and come from a good family.
By contrast, in Thailand, there isn't always the same level of professional bias in a buisiness setting. My last girlfriend was an academic in Thailand - a great Tgirl, who remains a close friend today. But there were some slight cultural issues there that niggled at me. Sure, you can make a Thai girl laugh via some silly face or card trick or whatever, but the nuances of western humour are often lost there. And I like to be made to laugh too, by something more sophisticated than a living tom-and-jerry cartoon
Again I say this fully aware that ANY generalisation is dangerous.
With a Pinay girl, I find the communication is better.
The jealousy and intensity of a Pinay girl in love is something to be reckoned with (often - of course all generalisations are flawed by their very nature). That's a possible downside.
Physically, there are differences too, of course, as has been mentioned. Personally I prefer a nice, lean, petite physique and this is much more common in Thailand. Thai girls are also, of course, much more likely to by surgically enhanced than their Pinay sisters. The surgeries often appear to be much better. They also start hormone treatment much earlier by and large.
Depending on what you're looking for, the above factor can be a plus or a minus. This sometimes gives Pinay girls an edge if you're looking for someone who is versatile rather than a bottom only (and I mean genuinely so - many pay for play girls will be active professionally but don't prefer it personally).
So, horses for courses, eh? At the moment, I'm looking for a genuine relationship - and on the balance of it, I'm finding that more viable in the PI than Thailand. Were I looking for a series of hot shagathons, then the LOS wins without question.
