don't sweat what you said, this forum is for voicing opinions and you voiced yours ...... most people who read here go out with the Thai's, that's all ...... and they won't or can't be convinced,  so save your breath.   But  you haven't made enemies here, so continue to post because besides yourself and a few others {mostly from the PI, also Fiona from Bali} the ladyboys who post anything up here are rare.

  for what it's worth I stated my opinions early on;  PI girls are better to hang out with for a long time....better english  and when you ask a question you never get "up to you" or some similar nonsense.  Thai ladyboys are gorgeous for the most part, of course there are also some unattractive ones but the fact [which you mentioned] that transvestism is so widely accepted in their society compared to the P.I. means that they can start on hormones earlier and have wider acceptance at an earlier age than the Philippinas do, who have to stay in the closet for years longer than their Thai cousins.

         All told, I prefer the PI girls;  Trisha below is one of the sexiest, smartest, coolest girls I have ever met from *anywhere*.... and the fact that she can  look like this at age 18 with no hormone usage at all speaks volumes about PI girls.

once and for all, as a closure to the std/hiv comment i wrote yesterday, i wrote few considerations before i stated some differences of PI ladyboys from thai ladyboys,

considerations/factors:

1.philippine society is not liberated enough towards LGBT (INCLUDING LADYBOYS) issues.
2.LB sex industry is not really somthing that we have here.
3.we have different influences when it comes to food ( american, european, japanese, chinese)


in number 2, that talks about the sex industry in thailand. ok, i understand that sex industry in thailand is institutionalized, and from this, stereotypes and assumptions were created, this is maybe harsh, this is maybe offensive, but we all know it might be true. i went across few online articles about current hiv/std cases in thailand, and from 70's, 80's 90's it was quite a problem for the government, though std/hiv cases is decreasing in recent years.

in philippines, ladyboy sex industry is not institutionalized, there are maybe few places where it is existing, but for sure there is no venue where it is legally allowed. i had research for my sociology class year ago about transsexuals in philippines and one major issue that came up was concerning transsexuals working in streets as street prostitutes ( specifically P.burgos street in makati city.) . as i have said unlike thailand, LB sex industry in philippines is not institutionalized, and therefore, therefore, there are only few researches or studies conducted regarding this issue, and this is probably the reason why there are no assumptions or stereotypes about pi ladyboys when talking about std/hiv.

this can hopefully explain why such assumptions, not only by me, but by other men, or by other countries, about std/hiv were made.
