The issue of posting pictures without consent of the model/subject has come up in the chat room on a nightly basis. The powerful Naang Faa has taken a righteous stance of not posting photographs with the subject€™s permission. Her hard line stance was directed at me specifically as she isolated me only on the issue. While I engaged in the discussion rationally she resorted in name calling when I wouldn€™t agree with her. It€™s apparent she reverts to the whole Jane thread in which I have moved on from as the other players involved also have. Since then I have had several discussion with them and its evident we have all moved on and don€™t harbor feelings of who was right or wrong in the matter. I have made my final comment on that thread in regards to it and wish not to rehash the issue any further.
However Naang Faa has chosen to raise the issue of photos without permission as wrong and she is right. I have explained my position to her to nausea but she insists I haven€™t addressed or answered her question of is it right? When I have pointed to Stogies post on the issue she claims he is wrong too, and I€™m hiding behind him. It€™s my impression that it his site, and when he is encouraging me to post photos I don€™t see the problem. All of my photos are over two years old and the subjects posed happily. The photos were taken for my personal consumption. When I stumbled on to this great site and saw other bm€™s photo collections I chose to share my photos. I don€™t see how I could go back and ask these LB€™s and GG€™s if it€™s ok too post them on the internet. Stogie has even spoken to the LB who was at the center of the controversial thread and reported she could care less.
I can€™t imagine what this site would like if all these so called unauthorized photos disappeared, or if we all had to ask permission to each lb or gg we photographed asking them €œCan I put this on the internet?€ What next do we have to get a letter of consent signed and witnessed?
At one point I thought Naang Faa was finally satisfied that we all have our own views, and shouldn€™t force them on others. Two days ago marked the first day after 7 straight that she didn€™t bring up the deadhorse issue. What a nice day that was in the CR. If I don€™t talk about it or change the subject she consistently says I€™m avoiding the issue? I asked her why she only targeted me and not the 100€™s of other people here who have posted a photo with the lb or gg knowing it would be on the internet. Her answer was even if was 1000€™s it doesn€™t make it right. We are all wrong and she is right. After a brief 24 hours without ragging on me about this I come into the chat room to find her in the tired issue with Donnnnny. Finally she is attacking some one other than me. He left soon after getting knowhere with Suay.
So if she wants to make this her crusade to protect the lb€™s in her eyes, so be it, but I don€™t want to here the same old broken record every time I€™m in there with her. It seems to be her room when she is there and I have experienced getting kicked out without doing anything more than stating my opinion, to which she calls me; an idiot, immoral, unethical, plonker, pigheaded, dumb, stupid, a pillock, selfish, and even a couple in Thai insults.
I enjoy going to the chat room and learn something new everyday. Some quite valuable information on a range of subjects. With Naang Faa, I only learn she is chat room boss, she is always right, and she has taught me some insults I have never heard before.
In conclusion, I just want to give her the opportunity here to push her opinion and agenda on everyone else. Although she never asked me to quit posting photos, I will no longer in exchange of her getting off my ass in the chat room. You can take it out on other people here Naang faa. Its old and tired, boring and most of all no one else want to hear the name calling or repetitive rhetoric she spews at me in the CR.
So I guess now I will just stick to comments, trip reports without photos, and photos of nonhuman objects. Photos of my upcoming trip to LOS will revert to my own consumption unless I can get their expressed consent. Maybe you could develop a release form for us Naang Faa. I€™m looking forward to more humorous or productive time in the chatroom.
