I don't know about LB's, but gg's often offer bareback as 'proof that they love you'.   When they offer bareback they usually regard you as special, either boyfriend material or a potential sponsor.  Going bareback is their way of saying "I trust you and I want to have a relationship with you".  

Of course others just don't give a damn.  They're either already HIV+ or they're 18 and think that they are immortal - they think that diseases are things that happen to other people.

Many of the comments here about testing are ill-informed. There are some tests that require much less latency. The PCR test for HIV is accurate with only a day or two of latency after infection, unlike 3-6 months required for ELISA.

Take a day off together, get tested, and then go off to a week together and you should be fine. Check the other STDs, too.

Without the tests, you can't be certain. So, your gut instinct is correct. Why would she want to go bareback with someone who so readily accepted such offers? Such a person could be a big risk for her, too.

Great idea about mentioning the PCR test. This is the one the porn industry uses, but I have heard it is quite a bit more expensive and not done in as many places. Still worth it of course. The big question is, is the PCR test readily available in Thailand, and if so, where are some places that offer it?
I have gotten HIV tests there before and every time the clinic offered the ELISA

I think the price has come down. Years ago, I recall that ELISA was about $200, now I think it's down to a lot less. I thnk PCR was just $200 a few years ago. It may be cheaper in Thailand.

The porn industry has to use this because the shacking up BB is so frequent that anything with a latency will mean that an enormous number of people will need to be informed. I learned all of this years ago when Darren James was in the news. I never saw a film by him, but the testing and notification infrastructure is pretty impressive.

As usual, you will also have to be prepared for what happens in the event of a positive result. Not knowing but being well protected may keep you safe, and allow for ignorance. Would you sleep with someone you know to be positive? Would they even be stable if they just learned of their status?

It's tricky stuff.

Lefty you are correct, the PCR test requires a very expensive machine that will amplify a small sample of DNA to quantities high enough for detecting a slow progressing disease like HIV.

While I don't know for sure, it is likely only a large, well funded hospital would have such a machine available. Bumrungrad, and Siriraj Hospitals are possible ones.

i done a little survey myself on the last trip and every lb and gg wer willing to shag bareback except one ..in fact one well known lb was angry that i put a condom on and said why you wear this..so i think there are verry few in the p4p biz in thai cares if you cover up or not as long as you have the money it dosent matter..
