How do you explain your trips to thailand?

So, you guys who visit Thailand frequently, or elsewhere (someone here has a thing for the Philippines) for the purpose of meeting LBs, how do you explain it to friends/coworkers/family/spouse?  Forget if you're living there already - I want to know - do you tell everyone "I go there to shag my brains out, for $20 a night, and to top it off, I'm sleeping with a bunch of transsexuals?"

Or, have you come up with some clever import-export cover story?  Or maybe you get lost between Australia and the northern hemisphere?

In my situation, if I visit BKK, I will need a damned good cover story.  Unbelievably good.  This is about the only reason I've not been there at all in 4 years of thinking about it.  I'm getting close, though: I've visited several other Asian countries, so Thailand is one of the biggies remaining.

So, tell us!  When someone asks why you keep going to Thailand, what do you tell them?  Or does everyone presume it's for the drugs, beer, and sex?

hey man. actually it is great topic.. i am living over in the LOS now, but for 6 years or so would make two or three trips to thailand a year...it worked for me because i was divorced and could get away.. i always used the cover of being awed by the submissive' i want to take care of you' attitude of thai women.. which is partly true.. like a lot of members of the site, i like thai women and ladyboys about the 'same same'.. in all honesty what really grabs my attn over here are having the two options. i have the option of beautiful thai girls , or i have the third sex too..a wise expat once told me a long time ago, " the most beautiful women in thailand are not females, they are ladyboys".. so true and it is part of of the big reason why i fell in love with thailand a long time ago..

it is different world over here and if you have never been to thailand and you like ladyboys, you are missing out perhaps on the time of your life...some guys come to thailand and it is a life changing event.. that is what precisely happen to me.. i love it over here.. i am in a ladyboy and g-girl paradise!! rod

I am the expert in this matter hands down. I do a lot of business in Singapore so there is my "alibi". I have to travel to that dreaded place three to four times a year. Hence I am always in Singapore when I travel there. The GSM phones are a god send.

I suppose that for those of us that do - we really do take living here for granted!

It is easy to forget that many people have proper jobs and families that they would probably want to shield from their secret lives as whore mongering beer drinking erm... normal people!

One thing - if you are here for the drugs you are in the wrong country. Drinking and going to bed with bargirls and ladyboys is an accepted part of what farangs can do while visiting Thailand... Taking drugs is not!

PLEASE don't get caught with drugs of ANY kind. Even amphetamines can get you in trouble here. The kind of trouble that doesn't go away with money under the table!

The authorities in Thailand are extremely tolerant to farangs and believe it or not they do not go around in gangs targeting us and will only investigate when a crime has been reported.

Usually if a club is raided then farangs will be quickly whisked out the door pronto. We are NOT a prime target for authorities. That said - if you do get caught with drugs or high after a piss test then you are in a fucking boat load of hurt!

Personally the only reason I hide it from my family and friends is because I have kids in the equation. Otherwise I doubt I would be so secretive.

Yes Stogie your dead right about drugs...... to be very honest i come mainly for the sex now and a few beers . I only put the "drugs" bit in my post above as i was guessing thats whats most of the other guys come here for.

I actually make a point of picking my company very carefull when im in Thailand so as to avoid the Criminal types.There are a lot of dodgy Brits living in Pattaya thats for sure.

Actually i 100% agree with the Extra Judicial killings that were carried out recently to rid LOS of these Drug Dealers. Its a shame they only killed 2,000 though.

The only good drugs dealer is a dead one!

I used to take some of my ladyboy pics to work and show the guys, and throw in the odd real girl and say to them have a look at these babes.
The guys had a look and gues what? They picked the ladybots as NO 1 every time and you should seee the looks on their faces when i tell them that all the hotties are Ladyboys.

I find the best way to deal with then is to Exaggerate my love for ladyboys and tell them DONT KNOCK ladyboys until you try them.

this is a great topic. i'm like rod above - I like ggs as much as LBs (but strangely, not post-ops - go figure). i suspect most of the members don't admit to friends and family what they're up to in thailand when they go on trips, whether trips are business or pleasure and whether it's with lbs or ggs. i hugely respect the guys that are open abt it.

i just naturally assume that guys are screwing around when they go there (with lbs, ggs, etc), even if they don't admit it. i'm probably right more often than not. it's just very hard not to screw around, even if you don't go to patpong or nep, etc.
