Cultcure. I dated a girl from Thailand for nearly 3yr's. Her name was Chanpen.
Her sense of Humor in my minds eye was great. She had quite the Funny bone.
She saw humor in everything which was quite different than the expeireance I had for the two trips to LOS I had. I did find Femboy Beer to be very funny. The rest had no humor at all.My Femboys can Beat up your Ladyboys.

Sometimes my gg can be quiet funny. Most of the time her humor is absolutely thai. Seen a lot of movies with her, I laught, she don't, same other way round.

Humour also dates. I used to think the young ones was funny, now I cant watch it, shite.The fast show was one of My all time faves, again very dated, some of it still funny, some of it not.My Ex indonesian GF, spent all her time in Berkshire, till She dated Me, Her one liners came on leaps & bounds while dating Me

I think we should remember that even fairly similar cultures can have differing senses of humour.
I recall back in the days when smoking was not punishable by death (first offence) a colleague stunning some visitors from the US by asking if anyone wanted to go outside for a fag.
This left one stunned Brit, three mortified Americans and yours truly having hysterics! Perhaps its just me

At a good guess I would say Thailand is devoid of Stand Ups.
I know a few other Asian countries don't have them.
It's easy to make a Thai laugh. Just think back to those Laurel and Hardy (who were fantastic) films and improvise a little.Comment

I have a very dark sense of humour.
Believe me, it doesn't work on lb's, in fact it could potentially be dangerous as you spend the next 10 minutes after telling a joke trying to back down and explain it while their anger dies off.Comment
