I don't know enough muslims to make an informed decision but the ones in the south of Thailand are a miserable shower of shits. During my visit to the south I saw nothing but sour grumpy muslims everywhere. Dreadful lot. No wonder normal Thais hate them so much.

I have nothing at all against muslims or people who are true Islamic fundamentalists, only people who hide behind the Koran and use it as a means to terrorize the rest of the world.  I am sure that the vast majority of people in these middle-eastern countries  would condemn 9/11 and other such attrocities, but for the 1% who you see cheering  when a dead American soldier is dragged through the streets by his feet or 3 planes crash in to US landmarks,  they deserve to be strung up by their balls.

 remember also that terrorism is not confined to the middle east;  ask the people in Ulster. People from my heritage  with last names like O'Leary and Shea and O'Conner have been blowing up children on buses for years now and they deserve this as much as any one from a middle eastern country

Let me set you guys straight on the Indian ladyboy culture and other related India topics.  They are not hermaphrodites because the definition of that term relates to someone who has genitals of male and female.  The term used to describe the majority of so-called ladyboys in India is Hijra(can be spelled in other ways).  I have lived and worked in India for years and speak a south Indian language.  I have taped and photographed Hijras and interviewed them.  They are not fortune tellers, but they are associated with luck and are especially in demand during the marraige season.  Groups of Hijras are hired to perform during a wedding ceremony to sing and dance and tell dirty jokes.  Indian culture especially thinks they have power to bestow firtility upon a couple.  When not employed in this way they are often found begging from merchants for a meagre living.  They are loosely organized and tend to live in close proximity to each other within a particular neighborhood.  There is a sort of ambiguous God(Mother)figure who lives in Bombay who is called a boss but has very loose attachment to most groups.  They are spread throughout India.  Most, but by no means all, are asexual and often castrated at some point.  Others have cocks and may work as prostitutes.  For some reason many are not very attractive--perhaps due to the high cost of hormones.
