MK ... I agree with your opinion and those of many others that the most beautiful girls in the eyes of Farangs coming from Thailand's Cambodia district (Surin, Buriram) ... most of them are really tall for Thais that's what we like .... actually the area is pretty empty because the fertile girls have moved to Bangkok .... but a Saturday night in Surin is still interesting for the eyes

Issan is actually a catch-all word that describes the whole Northeast Section of Thailand; I have a huge map right above my desk here at home and I am looking at it now; it is easily the largest section of Thailand and borders Cambo on the south, and Laos to the east and north.

here is a map for you

hahaha....valid point, Pla....it is even far more common to hear that down in Pattaya amongst the 'real' girls that work in the crappy little beer bars all over that city. you say "where do you come from?" and as Pla says, the answer is invariably "Issssaaaaan", with that long drawn-out hillbilly accent. that is the poorest section of Thailand so most of the people who can leave there to work in the big cities; better than making 3000baht per month picking rice or sugar for 10 hours per day.

Chiang Mai is indeed different from Chiang Rai; they are about 90 minutes apart in the northern section of Thailand. I have been to both and they are nice places; very "Thai" and very different from Bangkok or Pattaya or Phuket and tourist places like that. A good 20-25% of our Thai models come from this region and I still feel as though they are not only the most beautiful ladyboys in Thailand, but in the whole world as well. example attached.

Yep that's the point JaiDee but i remember one Ladyboy in Jenny Bar told me that she is from near the Border of Laos.
                      But i don't remember who ?
Hm do you know that one because she told me also that she speaks Laos.

lots of girls from Issan speak Lao......they also like Lao food, which is extremely hot and spicy and you really need to acquire a taste for it. May and Jeje from Bangkok can speak perfect Lao and May is from Khon Kean; Jeje is from Udon, right on the border.
apparantly the languages are not that different; I betcha Chompoo speaks it as well; she grew up in Nakhon Phanom, about 10 minutes from the border with Laos.

That's suprising but i guess it was Suzie from Jenny Bar who told me that or not ?
                          Hm whatever

I don't know a lot of people in Pattaya.....I rarely go there but if someone told you they are from Issan and they speak Lao, you could probably take them at their word.

by the way.....people from Issan will come across with a prompt "no way!" if you say they are from Laos; it is almost an embarassment for them that we would even concieve of that notion. same as people from Laos like Dow and Mailin, etc.....mention that they may be from Issan and they are repulsed by that. must be like a territorial thing.

Issan is all of Northeastern Thailand and it borders on Cambodia in the south and Laos to the north. Many Thais call Issan Lao, but others insist that Issan is distinct from Laos. Actually there are 4 million Laos in Laos and 16 million immigrant Laos in Issan. It is only a matter of how long they have been in Thailand--sometimes many generations of the family. Issan culture is mostly Lao with some mixture from Thai and in the south from Cambodia. The popular stereotypes include eating sticky rice, fried chicken, papaya salad and bugs. They have their own music which is very vibrant and creative. There are large clubs in Bangkok where many Lao and Issan people go, including LB's who have taken me to these clubs.
