    A gentler, more compliant forum?

    Seems as though in recent times there have been more fights [and then apologies] and small skirmishes between members on this forum than there used to be, and indeed more than there should be.  The whole battle between a Mod and a certain board member also got out of control there for a while but seems to have calmed down lately which is good;  although it would be nice to see the offended party come back into the fold here if he deems himself ready. A few others have just plain declared that they won't be reading here any longer and it certainly has something to do with things they read here which somehow offended them.

          Of course I am not devoid of starting or continuing battles myself and in point of fact have been as guilty as anyone in getting too personal or with name-calling, etc .... although have seriously tried to soften that attitude in 2008.   Please realize that when you are associated with a message board like this for so long you tend to snap on occassion when your patience gets tested  ...... but  recently I have tried to reel that bad attitude in and just read and contribute where possible on subjects I may have a bit of knowledge on.

      Stogie is on vacation starting today ..... probably won't be reading here as much for a while.... he runs a great forum here; so before he comes back for real waddya say we all offer him the best gift we ever could for moderating this madhouse by making it a softer, less combative place to hang out for one and all?

          Peace, brothers and sisters

          if so, sorry and one of the mods can merge this or whatever you do with like-minded threads

              @JD

              Not in this forum, in another one. I just wondered if it is currently a problem in every forum.

                Amen to that brother...

                but, i think as the board grows bigger, then you are always going to have topics that upset some and stir up others.
                seriously pig headed,arrogant,double standard smart ass poster!

                  I would have to agree, although I'm biased!
                  I would prefer Galway, or Cork over Dublin!

                        Is this thread being sponsored by the Irish Tourist Board or something?

                        I think the title needs changing to 'Do we like Irsh love-ins'.

                              Thanks for the kind words, I'm from Dublin but love Cork and Galway.

                              Galway for the races and the Oysters Festivel at Burkes in Clarenbridge, Cork for the crack, I've had the best of times in both places.
