  • Getting A Girl Tested Before You Shag Her

A buddy of mine accompanied me on one of my first trips to Thailand.

He had intercourse with bargirls, always using a condom, but that's still riskier than he prefers since sex workers are a high risk group.

He is looking for ways to improve his odds and he's thinking it might be a good idea to get a prospective partner tested. Now a good result does not guarantee she is OK (latency period or false negative) but it tilts the odds further in his favor and of course still using a condom.

Checked with 2 clinics on Pattaya South Road and the test is 400 baht and you can even get the result in about 15 minutes.

We're trying to figure out a way to best implement his strategy without coming across as insulting.

Now the money is not a concern with this guy; his peace of mind is what's important. So he meets a girl he likes in a bar. How about giving the girl a 500 baht tip and his phone number. She is told she can call tomorrow if she wants and they'll go get tested. If she doesn't call, no problem she can keep the 500 baht. He goes back to the hotel and has a good wank (he's OK with this). And yes, if she tests positive it's heavy shit but better for him than shagging a HIV+ girl.

Does this sound like a reasonable plan? A win-win for all concerned?

Once again money is not an issue with him. All he cares about is improving the chance of staying disease free and not accidentally barfining someone underage.

Decided not to tack this on to the other HIV thread so as to keep this one on the topic of testing girls you just met.

Is he from the US? Why not getting some Ora-Quick and carrying them along?

      Interesting.

Am I correct that testing can be either with blood OR urine?

I doubt he will want to draw blood but the pee test might work for him.

Only a blood test will do when checking for HIV or any strain of Hepatitis

Fingerstick from OraQuick is the standard pierce the finger-tip quick method adopted by many STD counselling offices allover the world. It's 99.6% accurate.
The mouth swab option, Oral fluid sensitivity, it says is 99.3%
If I read it right since there are 2 percentages for each product

Well- I have tried the Fingerstick and it's not going to kill you but you have to put a plaster on your fingert-tip and so on... Hence making it a sort of disturbing test for a girl or a LB because then she has later to take a shower and the wound may not have been fully closed. Ok..she can always put a condom at the index

I would assume the mouth swab option could be more practical and less intrusive. And hey, for 0.03% of accurancy...who cares?
If it's your unlucky day..no chances to escape whatsoever

It sounds like a really BAD idea. If she's positive what you going to do? Dump her in the gutter? If your mate is using a condom what else is he doing that makes him worried. Such a person should just never have sex with anyone other than his wife as he will never get 100% certainty.

I agree with Tourot, if he is that concerned about catching an STD (let alone AIDS), he shouldn't be shagging anyone else except his wife.

What if he comes across the one in a million false negative and he gets it from oral transmission (extremely rare, but has been reported) - what good is this pre-testing going to do him then?

Also I think that these Oraquick tests may be only available to health care professionals, clinics, hospitals, etc.

Probably it is. And I think that's right to be in this way since it's no rocket science to read the results, I've seen it by myself with the nurse when I did the quick test on the finger blood drop, but still is a serious matter.

Most important is, as you and Tourot are saying, if someone is obsessively afraid of getting some STD with a sex worker should just buy a porn membership and

Yes, an uncomfortable situation for sure.

But the alternative is having sex with a HIV+ girl which is not very appealing either.

Your friend should just stay away from hookers. This is all getting a bit creepy.

And there is absolutely no guarantee that you won't no matter what you do...

If someone is that worried and concerned, perhaps he shouldn't come to LOS...I realize that sounds a bit harsh, but do you think that he is really going to enjoy himself?
