I'm surprised more people didn't say professionally destroyed. I would assume that many of us move in small professional circles - after all there are only so many banks, consulting firms, law firms, etc... in town. I can't imagine how many people would be thrilled to hire a management consultant that likes to attack ladyboy cornholes in his off-time (not that it would be their concern, but the perception of it). Business is still male-centric in my opinion, and any connotation of homosexuality, perceived or real, I think is damaging to career prospects.

In small circles, yes, it could be damaging but in larger circles, they have to accept as it is against the law to discriminate base on sexual orientation. My company recognizes "domestic partners" regardless of same sex or opposite sex. Now, liking ladyboys might raise a few eyebrows because it's only half gay.

Homosexuality is ok in larger circles but agreed that in smaller circles, it may be a problem. I walk the walk that I couldn't care less what others think as I have been acutely aware of the small minds that live among us. Bash someone for being gay will get you 15-20 yrs of gay sex.
